Staff Accountant
About Us:
We are a growing company that values persistence, teamwork, humility, integrity, and excellence in everything we do. Our accounting team plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and smooth day-to-day operations. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team.
About the Role:
The Staff Accountant will support daily accounting operations and gain hands-on experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to learn, receptive to feedback, and takes ownership of their work. You will work closely with experienced accounting professionals and receive guidance and coaching as you grow in the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including invoice entry, billing, and payment application
Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries under supervision
Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Support month-end close activities, including schedules and documentation
Maintain accurate vendor, customer, and general ledger records
Responsible for financial reporting, internal reporting, and forecasting
Identify issues, inconsistencies, or unusual activity and escalate appropriately
Support the accounting team with ad hoc tasks, projects, and process improvements
What Will Help You Succeed in This Role:
Be coachable and open to learning. Actively listen when teammates or supervisors provide instruction or feedback and apply what you learn to future work. Guidance is meant to help you grow and develop professionally.
Take accountability for your work. Own your responsibilities from start to finish, follow through on commitments, and speak up early if you need clarification or support.
Stay engaged and curious. Show interest in understanding the “why” behind your tasks and take initiative in learning new processes.
Ask questions until you fully understand. Clarifying expectations early helps prevent errors and builds confidence in your work.
Investigate anything that doesn’t seem right. If data or results look unusual, take time to research and understand them before moving forward.
Use feedback as a growth tool. View feedback as an opportunity to improve and strengthen your skills rather than as criticism.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or relevant coursework/experience)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate
