This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service.Reviews load sheet and load for the day’s deliveriesPerforms pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the equipment. Reports any issues to SupervisorFuels the vehicle and authorizes fuel billTransports materials in a safe and efficient mannerObserves all DOT regulations, rules of the road, and defensive driving techniquesLocates customer’s business/residence and confers with client as to where to unload materialsSafely unloads materials, checks quality, reviews packing slip with customer, and secures customer signatureDeals with customers in a courteous and professional fashion and accommodates customers’ requests whenever possiblePicks up materials from vendors, and checks and verifies quality and quantity of materials before receiptReturns to plant and unloads vehicleRotates functions with the department as needed and assigned by Supervisor. Works as a contributing member of the department teamPerforms all functions according to sound safety principles, company policies, and proceduresNotifies Shipping Supervisor of any existing or potential safety issuesReport any incidents and accidents promptlyCompletes all necessary paperwork and documentation neatly, timely, and accurately including driver’s logs, timecards, etcMust meet company appearance standardsCommunicates effectively across and within company departmentsMaintains good housekeeping in the departmentWork Environment: 90% Travel and 10% ProductionAll other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalentAbility to obtain a D.O.T.
