This role is ideal for someone who combines strong engineering instincts with a passion for automation and continuous improvement.\n\nThe successful candidate will work closely with Oracle database specialists and platform engineers to automate operational processes, improve platform reliability, and deliver scalable solutions across the Oracle estate. We are less concerned with deep expertise in every Oracle technology from day one and more interested in finding someone who is curious, technically strong, and able to analyze problems, identify opportunities for improvement, and build practical automation solutions.\n\nThis is a hands-on engineering role where you will be expected to challenge manual processes, develop automation, and help evolve the Oracle platform using DevOps principles.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDesign, develop, and maintain automation solutions for Oracle database administration and platform operations.\nWrite and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation workflows.\nDevelop Python and shell scripts to automate operational tasks, reporting, monitoring, and remediation activities.\nAnalyze recurring operational issues and transform manual procedures into reliable, reusable automation.\nSupport Oracle database platforms, including installation, configuration, patching, health checks, and lifecycle management.\nCollaborate with DBAs, infrastructure teams, and application teams to deliver scalable platform solutions.\nContribute to CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.\nParticipate in problem management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and automation standards.\nHelp drive a DevOps culture focused on efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.\n\nRequired Skills & Experience\n\n3-7 years of experience in a systems engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or database engineering role.\nExperience developing automation using Ansible .\nProgramming or scripting experience with Python , Shell scripting, or similar technologies.\nExperience working in Linux environments.\nFamiliarity with source control systems such as Git and collaborative development practices.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to identify repetitive work and engineer practical solutions to eliminate manual effort.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\n\nOracle Database Experience\n\nWe are open to candidates with varying levels of Oracle experience provided they demonstrate strong automation and engineering capabilities.\n\nIdeal candidates will have experience with some of the following:\n\nOracle Database Administration\nOracle RAC\nOracle Data Guard\nEnterprise Manager\nDatabase performance analysis and tuning\nBackup and recovery concepts\nDatabase patching and upgrade activities\n\nTraining and mentorship will be provided to help successful candidates build their Oracle DBA expertise, platform knowledge, and database engineering skills.
