Tailoring Assistant

Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tailor Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion and a strong understanding of garment construction. As a Tailor Assistant, you will be responsible for altering and repairing clothing to ensure the perfect fit for our customers. Your expertise in sewing and customer service will play a vital role in enhancing the overall shopping experience. Responsibilities Perform alterations on garments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and adjusting lengths. Repair damaged clothing by sewing or patching as needed. Collaborate with customers to understand their specific tailoring needs and provide expert advice on alterations. Operate sewing machines and other equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are readily available. Keep accurate records of alterations and repairs completed for each customer. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and ensuring satisfaction with finished products. Qualifications Proven experience in tailoring or garment alteration is preferred. Strong knowledge of garment construction techniques and fabric types. Proficiency in using sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques. Basic math skills for measuring and calculating fabric requirements. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Experience in fashion retail is a plus but not required.
