HPC - System Engineer - Linux, Python, Red Hat

We are seeking engineers who wish to grow their careers and want to become part of a technically strong and growth-oriented company focused on bringing innovative solutions to the difficult mission problems facing our customers.DescriptionThe System Engineer shall be responsible for providing support for a large scale Linux system including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all of the compute, network, memory, and storage system components. In addition, the System Engineer shall maintain the system security integrity and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.RequirementsA current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance (within 7 years) is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.ExperienceTwenty (20) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required. Bachelor degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.Required SkillsExperience using the Linux CLIExperience developing scripts using Bash/PythonExperience performing System Administration including installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in a large scale Linux cluster environmentGeneral technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage system componentsExperience with Red Hat Satellite systems management solutionExperience with the sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolutionExperience with configuring and sustaining a VMware ESXi/Virtualization environmentExperience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as SaltStack and AnsibleExperience with corporate STE/STN security compliance policies and proceduresExperience using system monitoring tools such as HPE One View and NagiosExperience with containerization technologies such as DockerDesired SkillsExperience with container orchestration technologies such as KubernetesExperience with distributed files systems such as Weka, CEPH, GPFS, and HDFSExperience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence BenefitsErias Ventures provides a complete package of wealth, health, and happiness benefits.
