You will be working on a wide variety of bridge projects in CT and New England using cutting edge tools to design and create digital models of bridges.Learn more about our Structures practice at VHB: Bridges & Structures | VHBResponsibilitiesPerform structural modeling and design of highway, pedestrian and railroad bridges and other structuresCreate plans and digital models of the bridges and highway bridge approachesPerform bridge inspectionsDevelop construction cost estimatesPrepare contract documentsReview fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviewsSkills and AttributesStrong technical skills in bridge/structural designExperience developing design reports, plans, specifications, and construction cost estimatesExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsSelf-motivated and commitment to learningExcellent attention to detailTraining and mentoring skillsEffective and comfortable in a highly collaborative team environmentAutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenBridge, MicroStation v8 and Connect experience is a strong plusQualificationsBachelor's degree in civil engineering (structural emphasis preferred)Master's degree a plus5-8 years of professional structural/transportation/bridge design experience required (master's degree may substitute for 1-2 years of experience)PE license required or expected to receive within 6 months.Building what's next, together.Our people make the difference.
