You will develop and execute sourcing strategies, encompassing supplier selection, negotiating agreements, establishing pricing, and executing various types of contracts. You will be accountable for the overall supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, cost, and innovation. This role has a strong focus on electronic components, cables, and especially Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA’s), requiring deep industry knowledge and proven sourcing expertise in these areas.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nLead and Develop Buyers: Directly manage, mentor, and guide a team of Buyers responsible for tactical purchasing activities within your assigned commodities, ensuring their performance aligns with strategic goals.\nBuild and Manage Supply Base: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a robust and reliable supply chain.\nDrive Cost Reduction Projects: Identify, lead, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality, often delegating and overseeing Buyer-led initiatives.\nDefine and Implement Sourcing Strategies: Create and execute effective sourcing strategies for new and existing programs, delegating specific tactical execution to Buyers.\nManage Work Transfer Projects: Oversee work transfer projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget, with Buyers supporting execution.\nConduct Supplier Business Reviews: Perform regular strategic reviews of supplier performance and manage action plans for improvement, leveraging data and input from Buyers.\nRisk Mitigation and Corrective Actions: Identify potential risks, implement mitigation strategies, and manage root cause corrective actions across your commodity, guiding Buyers in their issue resolution.\nSupplier Capacity Planning: Monitor and drive supplier capacity planning to adapt to program rate changes and component obsolescence, collaborating with Buyers on execution.\nContinuous Improvement: Monitor overall supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives within your commodity.\nDevelop Requests for Proposal/Quotes: Lead the creation and management of RFP/RFQ processes, evaluate proposals, and conduct contract negotiations.\nResolve Complex Supplier Issues: Address and resolve any complex or escalated supplier-related issues promptly, providing guidance to Buyers on lower-level issues.\nCross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Quality, Production, Planning, Finance) and provide strategic support to the broader Purchasing organization.\nPreferred Education & Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations management or Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience\n5 or more years of industry related experience within Purchasing and Supply Chain, including demonstrated experience managing or leading direct reports.\nProficient in ERP and PLM systems.\nExperience with commercial electronic components.\nSpecialized Skills and Abilities\nProven leadership and team development skills, with experience coaching and mentoring direct reports.\nStrong data analysis skills to drive sourcing strategy and problem-solving.\nExperience in contracting and strategic sourcing projects.\nExcellent communication skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequent use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machines and computer printers.\nFrequently move inside the office.\nFrequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.\nOccasionally use of steps or ladder.\nOccasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.\nWork Environment\nThis job operates in a professional office environment.\nThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.\nWillingness and ability to travel up to 15% of the time.\n\nSalary Range\nPlease note the typical hiring range is $112,000 - $168,000 annually.
