This role is ideal for therapists who enjoy fast-paced environments, critical thinking and daily collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.ResponsibilitiesMinimum PRN requirements: 1 weekend shift of availability per month in addition to one high-need day (could be weekend or weekday), as determined by the needs of the department. Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care.Perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans and deliver skilled interventions for patients in medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry and specialty unitsParticipate in interdisciplinary discussions and make recommendations regarding NPO status, diet levels and instrumental assessmentsDocument timely and accurately in the electronic medical record per hospital and regulatory standardsCompleting patient/family and staff education related to communication, cognition and swallowing, as appropriateContribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives within our teamQualificationsMinimum QualificationsCurrent state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association or eligibility for Certification pending professional experience required.Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.Acute care experience, minimum one year requiredCompetency with MBSS, strongly preferredStrong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills#BSWIR- InpatientEqual Opportunity Employer including Disabled/Veterans
