This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. customs laws and global import regulations while supporting high-volume manufacturing and distribution activities.\n\nThe Senior Import Analyst will partner closely with procurement, logistics, manufacturing, engineering, finance, customs brokers, and external service providers to ensure compliant, efficient, and cost-effective import operations. This position will play a key role in customs compliance, tariff classification, trade remedy programs, post-entry activities, and continuous process improvements supporting Supermicro's global business.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nImport Compliance & Customs Operations\nPerform and maintain Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications for products, components, and materials.\nDetermine country of origin and support customs valuation in accordance with applicable regulations.\nReview import documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and other global import requirements.\nCoordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely and compliant import transactions.\nSupport post-entry activities, including Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), prior disclosures, protests, reconciliations, and other customs compliance initiatives.\nRespond to customs inquiries and assist with audits, Requests for Information (CF28), Notices of Action (CF29), and other government requests.\nTrade Compliance & Regulatory Support\nSupport compliance with U.S. customs regulations, trade remedy programs, and other global import requirements.\nAssist with duty mitigation initiatives, including Section 232, Section 301, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ), and duty drawback programs.\nMonitor regulatory developments and communicate business impacts to internal stakeholders.\nMaintain compliance documentation to support internal controls and audit readiness.\nOperational Excellence\nDevelop and improve import compliance policies, procedures, work instructions, and training materials.\nAnalyze import data to identify compliance risks, operational efficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.\nPartner with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and strengthen compliance controls.\nSupport trade compliance systems, master data maintenance, reporting, and automation initiatives.\nPerform other duties as assigned in support of the Global Trade Compliance organization.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.\nMinimum of 8 years of experience in U.S. import compliance, customs, or international trade.\nStrong knowledge of HTS classification, customs valuation, country of origin, customs entry procedures, and trade regulations.\nExperience supporting Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), customs audits, and government inquiries preferred.\nFamiliarity with trade remedy programs including Section 232, Section 301, FTAs, FTZs, and duty drawback.\nExperience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar trade compliance systems.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global business functions.\nLicensed U.S. Customs Broker (LCB) certification is preferred but not required.\nSalary Range\n$120,000 - $140,000\nThe salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
