Project Engineers assist with establishing design protocols and standards and communicating them to other team members. A large portion of their role is to review contractor submittals and progress drawings for compliance with established design standards. The role also includes researching new products and historical project related information. Project Engineers are highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and good communicators. This role is mainly in-office but can occasionally require visits to project sites.\n\nResponsibilities & Duties\nProject Document Reviews\n\nReview contractor submittals for conformance with design standards\n\nReview and backcheck progress drawings for highly detailed conformance with design standards\n\nTrack changes and follow up on requested revisions\n\nUnderstand the connection between function and design to help identify areas that need improvement.\n\nFor projects that don’t utilize ProCore, route submittals and RFI’s to appropriate persons and track responses\n\nMaintain Project Documents and Provide Information Control\n\nAssist Director with updating and organizing design standards database\n\nOrganize and update project files related to design development\n\nAssist Design Manager with establishing and communicating design standards\n\nSolicit proposals for design services\n\nResearch products or historical project information\n\nOrganize complex information in a meaningful format using programs such as Excel and Bluebeam\n\nFollow up on outstanding items and track issues to resolution\n\nCreate meeting minutes and assist with associated tasks\n\nCommunication with consultant teams, development managers, and construction project managers\n\nRequirements\n\n4+ years of related experience within the construction industry\n\nHigh School Diploma required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, and/or related preferred\n\nGeneral understanding of drawing development and entitlement process\n\nHands on experience with construction processes for plan distribution, contractor submittals and RFI’s\n\nMust be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings\n\nProficient in Excel and Word.
