Position SummaryThe Service Director / Dining Room Manager is the senior front-of-house leader responsible for delivering a refined, welcoming, and highly personalized dining experience for the Members of Sewickley Heights Golf Club. This role sets the standard for service culture, professionalism, and hospitality across all dining outlets, while leading, training, and developing the service team.This position is highly visible, member-facing, and hands-on, requiring a polished hospitality professional who understands the traditions and expectations of a premier private club while embracing modern service standards.Core Purpose of the RoleElevate the Member dining experienceEstablish clear and consistent service standardsDevelop a professional, engaged service teamServe as a trusted ambassador between Members, staff, and leadershipPrimary Responsibilities – Member Experience & Service CultureServe as the primary front-of-house ambassador for SHGC dining operationsMaintain a consistent presence on the dining room floor during peak periodsBuild relationships with Members, learning names and preferencesLead service recovery efforts promptly and professionallyActively solicit and respond to Member feedbackDining Room OperationsOversee daily à la carte dining and event operations as neededManage reservations, pacing, and dining room flowEnsure dining spaces are staged and service-readyEnforce uniform and grooming standardsCoordinate closely with the Executive ChefStaff Leadership & TrainingRecruit, onboard, and train service staffLead pre-shift meetings and service briefingsDevelop and enforce service SOPsMentor Captains and senior staffSchedule staff efficientlyEvents & Club FunctionsOversee front-of-house execution for member eventsCollaborate on staffing and run-of-show executionMaintain consistent standards across all eventsAdministrative & Financial OversightAssist with labor managementMonitor service supplies and equipmentMaintain service logs and documentationParticipate in planning and evaluationsQualificationsRequired:Minimum 5 years of front-of-house management experienceStrong leadership and communication skillsDeep understanding of private club service standardsPreferred:Private club experienceWine or service educationPOS and club system experienceMeasures of SuccessPositive Member dining feedbackStrong staff retentionConsistent service executionAlignment with SHGC culture and standardsBenefits Simple IRASimple IRA MatchingDental InsuranceEmployee DiscountHealth InsurancePaid Time OffVision InsurancePowered by JazzHR
