{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"a20a5bb37091e99e34883a5f","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/a20a5bb37091e99e34883a5f","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/a20a5bb37091e99e34883a5f","title":"Structural Engineer II","description":"Overview\nDPP is seeking a Structural Engineer II for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace & Defense industry.\n\nWork location: Onsite in Englewood, CO.\n\nDuration: 7 months.\n\nTerms: W2 position.\n\nWork authorization: Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.\n\nPosition Summary\n\nAs a Structural Engineer, you will use your skills and expertise to design, evaluate, and certify cutting-edge products and services, covering advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated ground and air vehicles to orbital and space exploration systems.\n\nYou’ll examine complex metallic and composite structures and systems.\n\nYour technical duties involve the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.\n\nRequired Skills\n\nUnderstanding of engineering principles and practices\n\nBasic knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering tools\n\nExperience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams\n\nExposure to Static and/or Dynamic Analyses\n\nPreferred\n\nExperience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS\n\nAbility to perform classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods\n\nKnowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, including but not limited to parametric design, model‑based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes\n\nAbility to author substantiation reports\n\nBackground in the Aerospace and Defense Industry\n\nEducation\n\nBachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience\n\nWork Environment\n\nPhysical/Mental/Emotional Requirements: Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps. Frequently repeat the same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity. Rarely lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs.\n\nWorking Conditions: Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.), fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials, and loud noises.\n\nSecurity Clearance\nThis role requires the ability to obtain a Secret US security clearance, which requires a thorough background search and US citizenship.
