The role includes quality inspections, machine performance monitoring, minor troubleshooting, and supporting team members in the efficient operation of the press line.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesSet-up print and die cut sections of die cutters in accordance with proper setup techniques.Operate assigned equipment to best of abilityTrain and assist Assistant Machine Operator and Machine HelperCross-train on additional machines and support other areas as neededComplete production, quality, and safety reports accurately and on timeSubmit maintenance requests and proactively maintain equipmentAdhere to the production schedule and suggest improvementsReport scheduling issues to the SupervisorFollow all safety policies, procedures, and good housekeeping practicesWear required PPE and participate in safety programsPerform other duties as assigned by managementMinimum QualificationsStrong record of dependability and punctualityPrior experience in a corrugated packaging or a similar manufacturing environment preferredAt least six months of experience as an Assistant Machine Operator preferredAbility to work well with a team and follow instructionsListen to, follow and relay written and verbal instructions in EnglishAbility to read a tape measure with speed and accuracyAbility to apply basic high school math, including measurements and percentagesWillingness to work overtime and weekends as neededWillingness to learn new equipment and processesFlexible with scheduling, including potential overtime and weekendsPhysical DemandsRegularly required to stand, walk, speak, hear, and use hands to handle materials. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Work EnvironmentRegularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The plant is a non-climate-controlled industrial environment, where exposure to extreme heat in summer and cold in winter is expected.
