You will guide internal and external engineers and consultants across temporary infrastructure and renovation projects, while meeting codes and Health and Safety requirements.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nLead structural engineering design and development, directing internal and external engineers and consultants across temporary infrastructure and renovation projects.\nAnalyze existing infrastructure to determine supplemental structural improvements, and integrate structural designs into the venue design with architects and engineers.\nDevelop design guides that adapt IOC requirements to local practice, and prepare the structural portion of venue design books from concept through construction drawings.\nManage the review process to milestones and oversee an installation team during operations and maintenance, ensuring Health and Safety compliance.\nPartner across Energy, Technology, Villages, Finance, and Procurement to integrate requirements and support Permitting, Risk Management, and Event Operations.\nRequired Competencies\n5 years of experience with structural engineering infrastructure design and construction.\nAn accredited bachelor's degree in structural engineering.\nExperience leading diverse teams on complex infrastructure projects and managing external consultants.\nAdvanced knowledge of engineering tools — Revit and AutoCAD — with command of collaboration tools such as Office360, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and Autodesk Cloud.\nExperience with key industry codes and standards, structural engineering activities, and project management fundamentals — scope, schedule, and budget.\nValued Experience\nA Professional Engineering (PE) license in California, and Project Management or Construction certifications.\nExperience in U.S. and California design and construction, including large events with temporary infrastructure and rigging.\nWhat We Offer\nReal ownership of structural design across the venues that will host the Games.\nCross-functional exposure across Energy, Technology, Villages, and delivery partners.\nThe chance to build engineering standards from the ground up, on a co-creative team.\nWhat This Role Means for the Games\nThe structures you design carry athletes, broadcast, and fans — your engineering keeps a complex build safe, on schedule, and ready for a brilliant, accessible Olympic and Paralympic Games.\nPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions\nAvailable to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.\nMost work is in an office setting, using computers, phones, and other equipment for extended periods.\nThe LA28 office is an open floorplan environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle setting.\nHours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.\nPerform other duties as required; the role will evolve and may include operational responsibilities during the Games.\nCompensation\nThe annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $155,000 The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role.
