Elevated by the strategic acquisitions of Downstream and GA Group, Elevate Creative is a globally integrated design group that dissolves traditional boundaries between interior architecture, immersive technology, and experiential design. Reporting to Elevate’s Chief Corporate Development Officer, with a dotted line to Elevate’s VP of Legal and Business Affairs and the President of Elevate Creative, this role oversees the legal and compliance functions for Elevate Creative’s global studio. The ideal candidate will be a business-minded legal partner capable of managing complex international integrations, refining commercial contract processes (particularly within architecture, interior design, and construction), and supporting a growing global workforce.\nResponsibilities Manage the day-to-day legal and compliance functions for the Elevate Creative business globally.\nLead the legal integration efforts of GA Group and Downstream into the larger Elevate Creative business as a key member of a multi-disciplinary integration team (IT, Finance, Marketing, HR, Business Development).\nDraft, review, and negotiate a wide array of client contracts; lead the creation and refinement of standardized contract forms for Elevate Creative’s disciplines (e.g., environmental design, digital interactive environments, interior design).\nCreate, implement, and refine efficient internal processes for contract requests, vendor onboarding, vendor management, and procurement globally.\nManage business licensing, corporate registrations, and other ongoing compliance for Elevate Creative’s international subsidiaries.\nPartner with Human Resources on employee relations matters and employment law compliance for Elevate Creative's diverse global workforce.\nAssess legal and operational risks and provide clear, actionable guidance to the President of Elevate Creative and other internal stakeholders.\nQualifications Minimum Qualifications\nUndergraduate degree and J.D. from an accredited institution.\nActive and in good standing in one State Bar in the United States.\nNecessary/Desired Experience\n5+ years of experience in private practice or in-house, with direct expertise in creative, environmental, graphic, interior design, architectural design, and/or construction.\nDeep familiarity with AIA and/or RIBA form documents and other complex contracts for large-scale architecture, design, and construction projects.\nExperience with multi-national firms, managing legal functions in the UK/EU/EMEA regions in addition to the United States.\nPreference for experience in professional services or sports and entertainment industries and/or design of digital interactive environments, sales preview centers, and executive business centers.\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities\nExceptional contract drafting and negotiating skills; ability to distill legal risks into actionable business insights.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional project management skills, especially in post-merger integration.\nAbility to manage change, work through ambiguity, and adapt quickly.\nTeam-first mentality with willingness to collaborate across a global organization.\nWorking Conditions Work Environment\nHybrid in-office/remote arrangement; location options include Elevate Creative's Nashville, TN studio (min. 3 days in office per week) or Charlotte, NC (3 days in office).\nCandidates outside Nashville or Charlotte may be considered with relocation to one of these offices; relocation assistance may be available.\nTravel may be required to support global integration efforts (UK/London, Portland, Amsterdam).\nPhysical Demands: Sitting for extended periods while using a computer or phone.\nBenefits Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Insurance; FSA, HSA, and more\n401k Employer Match after eligibility\n14 Paid Holidays\nUnlimited PTO\nPaid Parental Leave\nWe are an equal opportunity employer and celebrate diversity.
