We hope you’ll join us!\n\nAbout the Job\nAs the Commissary Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and accurate transport of all house-made goods. Your base of operations will be the Commissary Kitchen, from where you will deliver daily to all of our San Francisco markets. It is essential to uphold food safety standards and ensure that deliveries are both timely and precise.\nIn addition to driving, you will handle administrative tasks related to inter-store transfers. You will also be expected to load and unload pallets of food, as well as maintain the vehicle as needed. A positive attitude, a team-oriented mindset, and a willingness to learn are crucial for this role. Must be available to work mornings and weekends.\n\nResponsibilities\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.\n\nTransferring Commissary Products to Stores\n\nWrap pallets: Pull all pallets from the walk-in fridge and wrap them securely\nCommunicate with store leadership regarding the timing of deliveries\nEnsure the timely and secure delivery of daily house-made products from the Commissary kitchen to stores, making certain that the products are safely transported from the company vehicle to the store floor for staff to receive and stock on shelves\nEnsure timely and secure delivery of inter-store transfers between locations\nTransfer daily waste from each store back to the Commissary kitchen\nReturn empty crates and pallets to the Commissary, unload them, and put them away\nClean and transport dirty dishware from stores to the dish station\nAssist in packaging kitchen products as needed\nAssist with kitchen prep work as required\n\nCompliance\nAdhere to all city and state food safety guidelines and protocols for house-made products, including overseeing the execution of temperature logs for all deliveries to each location\nImplement and uphold all food safety protocols\n\nVehicle Maintenance\nConduct vehicle maintenance, which includes fueling, cleaning, checking refrigerator temperatures daily, performing oil changes, and ensuring overall cleanliness\nThis applies to both the company vehicle and any courtesy vehicles provided while the company vehicle is being serviced\nMaintain secure records of fuel receipts\nKeep the company cell phone charged and secured at all times while in the company vehicle and away from the Commissary kitchen\nCommunicate with the manager regarding any maintenance issues before the end of each shift\nCompetencies\n\nStrong communicator\nProactive thinker\nAbility to work quickly under pressure\nAttention to detail\nEagerness to learn\nExcellent time management skills\nCollaborative, critical, and open-minded approach to all challenges\nSelf-starter; resourceful and capable of working independently as well as part of a team while adapting to shifting priorities\nWork environment\nCommissary kitchen and warehouse\nWarehouse offices\nRetail stores\nPhysical Demands\nRegularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds\nSit for long periods of time\nCan be on feet for up to 8 hours per day\nStooping, bending, lifting, standing for long periods, stretching, twisting, reaching, repetitive stocking motions\nAbility to use liftgate, dollies/hand truck, scanners, navigation\nHandling of refrigerated products in a cold environment for extended periods\nTravel required\nDrive to store locations as needed\nMust be able to safely drive in adverse weather conditions\nPreferred education and experience\nExperience with delivering and driving in San Francisco\nPreferably minimum of one year of related experience in the delivery and sales of perishable food products.\nKitchen prep experience\nAdditional eligibility requirements\nClean driving record\nValid California driver's license\nMust be 18 years or older\nExceptional reading and writing skills; ability to distill complex information into clear, professional documentation\nOther duties\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
