Concrete Crewmember - COMMERCIAL ROOF DECKS
SERD is hiring an LWIC (Lightweight Insulating Concrete) Crewmember. You will be assisting both the ground and roof crews for our Roof-Deck division. A successful crew member will ultimately be installing roofs on commercial structures. Under the training and coaching of the site supervisors, you’ll assist the team by preparing the work site, cleaning, loading or unloading materials, and removing hazards. You’ll also learn to operate and maintain our equipment. A successful crewmember will be dependable, flexible and adaptable to their work duties and be mechanically inclined.
SERD is a specialty subcontractor providing lightweight insulation concrete (LWIC) roof decks, metal decking, tectum acoustical roof deck panels, and engineered fills. SERD was originally founded as Southeastern Roof Decks in 1963 and for 50 years primarily specialized in lightweight insulating concrete roof deck systems. SERD continues to provide top quality construction services to customers and operates in Georgia, Tennessee, The Carolinas, and Alabama.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prep the equipment site to keep the area clean during pumping process
Properly mix lightweight insulating concrete roof deck & engineered fill systems
Recognize and report any unsafe jobsite condition
Communicate clearly with ground and roof team members
Comply with all company policies and procedures
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
Overtime as required
Communication skills
Travel to various job sites, 75% weekday overnight travel, home on weekends
Must be able to lift, push, or pull heavy equipment (75-100 pounds)
Ability to work at heights as well as access heights from a ladder
Must enjoy working outside in all weather conditions
Ability to work occasional weekend day(s)
90-day probationary period
REQUIREMENTS – SERD is a drug-free workplace
Must be willing to take a pre-employment drug test
Normal vision and hearing
Clean driving record (No DUI’s in the last 5 years)
Mechanically inclined
Willingness to learn the operation and maintenance of the equipment
