The project management team is responsible for coordinating efforts between the Engineering, Production, and Customer Support teams in order to facilitate the successful delivery of postal automation solutions to its customers. This is a paid part-time position and is only open to U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents.\n\nCandidates should be pursuing or have completed a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or another STEM-related field; however, individuals with equivalent relevant technical or engineering-related work experience will also be considered. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in a technical project management environment and may lead to future full-time employment opportunities with EII for individuals who demonstrate strong performance and alignment with company needs.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nAs an Associate Technical Project Manager, you will support cross‑functional engineering teams and help keep projects organized, documented, and progressing toward delivery. You will gain experience working with mechanical, electrical, and software teams—building real project management skills in a technical environment.\n\nYour responsibilities may include:\n\nProject Coordination & Scheduling\n\nWork with various teams to document tasks and assist in building project schedules\nManage simple project timelines and track milestones\nHelp ensure teams understand priorities, deadlines, and upcoming deliverables\n\nMeetings & Communication\n\nHost status and stand‑up meetings with cross‑functional project teams\nRecord meeting notes, statuses, and action items clearly and consistently\nFollow up with team members to ensure tasks are progressing as planned\n\nIssue Tracking & Risk Management\n\nAnticipate potential project issues and escalate concerns when necessary\nHelp mitigate risks by coordinating with the proper team members\nAssist with identifying blockers and facilitating resolutions\n\nTechnical Support\n\nAct as a technical resource for project teams when needed\nWork with teams across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines\nGain exposure to the full life cycle of technical projects\n\nAdditional Responsibilities\n\nSupport project managers with day‑to‑day administrative and organizational tasks\nParticipate in continuous improvement of project workflows\nPerform other duties as assigned\n\nWhat You Bring\n\nEngineering Innovation is looking for a motivated student who enjoys organizing, communicating, and helping technical teams stay aligned.\n\nSuccessful candidates:\n\nAbility to work:\nCandidates who are currently enrolled as full-time students for the semester: Approximately 20 hours per week (Monday–Friday; no nights or weekends).\nCandidates who are not currently enrolled as full-time students for the semester: Approximately 32 or more hours per week (Monday–Friday; no nights or weekends).\nAre comfortable “speaking” multiple technical languages—mechanical, electrical, and software\nCan manage simple project schedules and timelines\nHave strong communication and documentation skills\nDemonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities\nPay close attention to detail\nHave strong negotiation or conflict‑resolution skills\nWork well in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment\n\nBonus Skills (Not Required!)\n\nExperience with any of the following is helpful, but not required:\n\nProject Tools\n\nJira for project tracking and task management\nConfluence for documentation and team collaboration\nMicrosoft Project for creating and managing project schedules\n\nProductivity & Documentation Tools\n\nMS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio\nExperience organizing technical documentation or workflows\nFamiliarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies\nCompany Description\n\nEngineering Innovation, Inc.
