Medical Assistant/LPN
Statement of Purpose: This position is on-site at a Metro Healthy Communities clinic, supporting a community-based Primary Care team. The Medical Assistant/LPN provides direct patient care, clinical support, and accurate documentation, working collaboratively with Providers and staff to deliver safe, high-quality, and compliant care in a diverse community setting. This position will be based at our South St. Petersburg location.Bilingual Strongly PreferredSign on bonus of $1000 after 90 days of successful employmentPrimary Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform patient intake, including vital signs, medical history review, and risk assessmentsRoom patients and prepare them for provider visitsCarry out provider orders, including venipuncture, injections, specimen collection, and medication administrationDocument patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health recordTriage patient phone calls and walk-ins; identify urgent concerns and escalate appropriatelyAssist with prior authorizations, referrals, and other clinical administrative tasksProvide basic patient education and health counseling as directedReview charts daily to ensure documentation is complete and visit-readyMaintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and clinic protocolsCollaborate with providers, nurses, behavioral health, and support staffFile lab results, referrals, and medical records as neededAssist with data collection and clinic initiatives as requestedTravel and work between Pinellas County clinic locations as neededPerform other duties as assigned within Medical Assistant scope of practiceEducation & ExperienceLPN licensure from accredited school, currently licensed to practice in the state of FloridaGraduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)Minimum 2 years of MA or LPN experienceAt least 1 year of phlebotomy experienceAt least 1 year of injection experienceCurrent CPR certificationKnowledge, Skills & CompetenciesBilingual preferred (English/Spanish)Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and documentation standardsExperience with OSHA requirements, safety protocols, and compliance standardsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a healthcare teamUnderstanding of patient triage and basic community health resourcesCommitment to compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered careRequirementsValid Florida driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportationAbility to travel between clinic locationsSuccessful completion of Level II background check, fingerprinting, and E-Verify employment eligibility
