In this model, validation isn't a phase that happens after development — it's continuous, embedded work that runs alongside Dev from the earliest planning conversations through delivery. As a Software Validation Engineer, you'll work directly inside our AI-DLC mobs, helping validate requirements before code is generated, reviewing architecture and test coverage side-by-side with engineers in real time, and building the automated systems that let the team trust AI-generated code at speed. This is a hands-on infrastructure role as much as a validation one: you'll be building CI gates, synthetic data systems, and test frameworks, not just reviewing output. This is what you'll do: Partner with Product and Engineering during early planning to make sure requirements and acceptance criteria are precise and testable before development beginsWork alongside engineers throughout development, reviewing test scenarios and coverage in parallel with their architecture and code reviews, so validation and build happen together rather than sequentiallyBuild and maintain automated validation frameworks that verify AI-generated code against defined intent at CI/CD speedDesign and implement CI gates that enforce correctness thresholds before code can merge or shipBuild synthetic data systems and test environments that give engineering teams realistic, safe conditions to validate againstQuery and inspect data layer behavior (SQL) to confirm AI-generated changes are correct beyond just the interface or API layerMonitor the health of validation systems themselves — coverage gaps, false positive/negative rates, drift over time — treating validation infrastructure as a product with its own reliability standardsIdentify workflow gaps where validation is happening too late or too separately from development, and help the team close themContribute to defining validation standards and acceptance criteria for AI-generated work, in partnership with the Head of Validation EngineeringEvolve validation tooling and practices as the team's AI-DLC processes matureThis is what you'll need: 3-5+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, automation, or QA engineering, with a strong track record of building systems rather than executing manual test plansExperience working as an embedded member of a cross-functional team rather than as a downstream reviewer of finished workStrong proficiency in SQL and the ability to reason about data-layer correctnessExperience building or working within CI/CD pipelines, including designing gates and checks reliable enough to block a mergeAbility to read and reason about code (C#/.NET or similar) well enough to evaluate whether AI-generated implementation is architecturally sound, not just functionally passingExperience with synthetic data generation or test environment engineering is a strong plusA systems mindset — you look for ways to make validation scale and self-verify, rather than checking things one at a timeStrong written communication skills for documenting validation logic and decisions clearly for both technical and cross-functional audiencesGenuine interest in AI-assisted software development and how it's changing engineering practiceThis is what will set you apart: Experience on a team that has successfully moved away from sequential Dev-then-QA handoffs toward integrated, real-time collaborationPrior experience building validation, testing, or verification infrastructure as a platform or product, rather than a one-off projectA track record of building a new engineering discipline or framework from the ground upWhat success looks like: 30 days: Fully embedded with an assigned team; has observed and can clearly articulate where validation currently happens too late or too separately in the workflow60 days: Has closed at least one workflow gap — either by integrating validation earlier into planning, or by shipping an automated check that removes a manual downstream step90 days: Established as a core, real-time contributor to the team's development process; has proposed at least one process or tooling improvement adopted beyond their own teamCompensation & Salary Range The good-faith salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year.
