The successful candidate will be a key technical resource for developing new products and process improvements, troubleshooting technical issues in the production plant, and supporting customer growth through laboratory testing, application development, and field-facing technical collaboration.\n\nEcosorb® is a mixed media adsorbent used primarily in the sugar industry for removing color bodies and odor compounds.\n\nThis is an individual contributor position with no direct reports.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nSupport innovation for the Ecosorb business through hands-on laboratory work, product improvement, new application development, and execution of R&D priorities.\nWork collaboratively with field sales, technical service, and customers to identify application needs and design laboratory experiments that support customer applications and commercial growth.\nDevelop and execute lab testing protocols to evaluate Ecosorb performance in customer-specific applications, including color, odor, and contaminant removal challenges.\nProvide technical applications support for customer trials, product recommendations, troubleshooting, and interpretation of laboratory and field data.\nTroubleshoot technical issues in manufacturing as needed and collaborate with process engineering and production to support continuous improvement initiatives.\nDocument experimental results, technical findings, and application recommendations in a clear, actionable format for internal and customer-facing use.\nEnsure safe and healthy working conditions and an organized laboratory work environment.\nPerform other duties as required.\n\nEducation and Knowledge:\n\nBachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or related technical field.\nKnowledge and experience supporting R&D projects, laboratory testing programs, and technical application development.\nStrong understanding of experimental design, data analysis, and translating lab results into practical customer or manufacturing recommendations.\n\nExperience:\n\n3-7 years of related chemistry, R&D, applications, or product development experience\nExperience working independently in a laboratory environment and managing multiple technical projects or priorities\nExperience supporting customers, commercial teams, or field trials through laboratory testing and technical recommendations preferred\nBackground in the sugar industry, adsorbent media, filtration, ion exchange, or related separation technologies a plus\n\nCompetencies:\n\nEffective communication skills – verbal and written\nCustomer-focused technical problem solving\nOrganization and project management\nExperimental design, data analysis, and interpretation\nInterpersonal skills and cross-functional collaboration\nAbility to work independently while contributing effectively in cross-functional teams\nAbility to coordinate priorities and translate technical findings into business actions\n\nComprehensive Benefit Package offered, including: Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision & Prescription), Group Life and AD&D Insurance, Voluntary Group Insurance (Life, AD&D, LTD), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), 401(k) Plan, Pension Plan, Paid Vacation, Paid Company Holidays.\n\nGraver Technologies is a Marmon Water / Berkshire Hathaway Company.\n\nFollowing receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.\n\nWe are an equal opportunity employer, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to their membership in any protected class.
