Materials Requirements Planning Controller

Position Title: Material Requirements Planning SpecialistLocation: Lexington, MA USA 02421Duration: 3 years Contract on W2 (Possible Extension)Pay Rate: $40/hr. - $50/hr.Job Description:The role of the Program Material Planner will focus on leading the supply chain strategy for a program, operating as a key liaison between program engineering, fabrication, and suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective material availability from concept through prototype fabrication of mechanical assemblies. The role is responsible to manage risk, drive resolution for shortages, and execute detailed plans for procurement and fabrication. The ideal candidate will effectively partner with the program engineering team to continuously improve fabrication schedule alignment to program needs as well as optimize utilization of resources and ensure a smooth transition from planning to fabrication of prototypes.Responsibilities include but not limited to:Develop and manage the plans for internally and externally fabricated components to support prototype development for a multitude of part commodity types and programsCoordinate with the multi-faceted cross-functional team and program contacts to align fabrication execution plan to program and technical needsTranslate technical data provided into process instructions to execute fabrication and assembly of prototype hardwareUtilize planning tools to provide capacity analysis, cost, and schedule estimates to group and programsIdentify opportunities for process improvements and manage projects related to fabrication, procurement, and project planningDevelop strong working relationships with vendor base contacts that support external sourcing of key components for prototype development and fabricationRequirements:Bachelor's degree in a Technical/STEM discipline2+ years of professional experienceAbility to collaborate with cross functional team members to drive projects forward and to push forward action plans.Preferred:Six Sigma experience or other manufacturing type methodologies.Previous experience working with a team of engineers to solve problems, execute fabrications, plan for manufacturing layout, etc.Project coordination type experience, in the sense of helping move an idea to execution (start to finish).
