Field Applications Specialist – Diagnostic Implementation (Remote, 80% Travel) Join a mission-driven team bringing next-generation diagnostic technology to clinical laboratories nationwide. We're seeking an experienced Field Applications Specialist to lead customers through the complete onboarding and integration of a novel IVD assay. If you thrive in hands-on environments, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and are energized by working directly with laboratory teams, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
What You'll Do Develop customized implementation strategies for introducing a new IVD assay into partner clinical labs
Lead on-site workflow design, instrument and assay setup, validation support, training, and go-live activities
Guide customers through accessioning, QC planning, reporting workflows, and LIS/EMR integration
Serve as the primary technical resource after installation, ensuring customer success and long-term satisfaction
Collaborate closely with commercial and diagnostic manufacturing partners to troubleshoot issues and remove barriers to adoption
Contribute to process development and help build a scalable applications support program
Perform additional responsibilities that support customer and team success
What You Bring Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science (or similar field)
MT(ASCP) / MLS(ASCP) certification strongly preferred
At least 5 years in a clinical or CLIA-regulated laboratory environment
Demonstrated technical expertise with assay implementation or laboratory workflow integration
Strong communication skills, a customer-first mindset, and the professionalism to navigate sensitive situations
Excellent troubleshooting abilities and comfort working in a fast-paced setting
High motivation, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to operate independently
Ability to travel extensively—up to 80%—to support customers on-site
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems; experience with LIS/EMR platforms is a plus
Physical & Other Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use computer and phone systems for extended periods
Ability to travel by car and air frequently, including interstate travel
Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
Flexibility to work outside standard business hours as needed
