This position combines hands-on technical work and maintenance of equipment and supplies. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with engineering drawings and quality assurance techniques, organizational skills, in depth experience with precision machining operations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position is 100% on site in Indian Head, MD.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide highly technical expertise and guidance in solving complex engineering problems\nPerform in all phases of hardware design, development, integration/implementation, and analysis\nPlan and conduct engineering feasibility studies for the design improvement modifications and implementation of advanced technologies\nDevelop standards and guidelines for tasks being performed\nInterface with government personnel\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering or related field\nMinimum of 3-5 years of experience.\nProven ability to independently drive tasks and projects from concept to production.\nProficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks)\nExperience with engineering drawings including GD&T, and design for manufacturing.\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams\nDemonstrated experience developing, testing, and producing components and systems.\nExcellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively across interdisciplinary teams.\nTechnical writing skills, with experience authoring test plans, procedures, and detailed technical reports.\nFamiliarity with researching and applying relevant military and commercial specifications and standards (e.g., MIL-STD, ASTM, ISO)\nConceptual and/or practical experience with finite element analysis (FEA) methods to support mechanical design and evaluation\nIn the office up to 5 days per week as required with option for situational telework.\n\nPhysical Demand:\nFrequent walking, standing, and moving between workstations in the machine shop environment.\nAbility to lift and move materials or parts weighing up to 50 pounds.\nRegular exposure to noise, dust, and vibrations typical of a machine shop.\nUse of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.\nOccasional bending, kneeling, and reaching to access materials or equipment.\n\nSECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level.
