This newly created role stems from internal restructuring and will take on responsibilities previously managed by the Corporate Accounting Manager. The position offers future leadership growth, with the expectation of overseeing other personnel once fully onboarded.Candidates must be comfortable working within an agriculture-based, live operations environment.Candidates who have applied previously for this role in the last month will not be reconsidered.Interview ProcessStep 1: Director of Finance + Corporate Accounting ManagerStep 2: Human Resources ManagerStep 3: OfferKey Qualifications7–8 years of progressive accounting experienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fieldCPA preferredIFRS experience strongly preferredCost Accounting experience a plusExperience with MTECH and/or SAP preferredStrong tenure and stability across past rolesBackground in live operations accounting ideal, but open to other relevant accounting backgroundsPosition SummaryThe Accounting Manager oversees all aspects of the General Ledger for operations and ensures accurate and timely financial and managerial reporting. This includes developing and maintaining accounting principles, analyzing data, preparing financial reports, and supporting budgets, cost controls, and operational performance reporting.This individual will collaborate closely with corporate accounting leadership and key operational teams.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting & ReportingAdminister financial/accounting practices for operationsPerform budgeting, cost control, and financial analysisAnalyze and reconcile general ledger accounts; prepare journal entriesReview balance sheet accounts to ensure alignment with supporting documentationComplete month-end close for all live accounting functionsPrepare annual live operations budgetProvide audit support and complete audit-related requestsAssist in preparing quarterly IFRS financial statementsConduct ICFR requirements (weekly, monthly, quarterly)Prepare 1099 documentation related to grower payOperational & Cost AccountingEnsure accurate weekly posting of live operational data in MTECHReview weekly cost estimates and operational performance reportsInterpret and evaluate operating results using statistical and accounting informationConduct inventory inspections regularly and coordinate year-end inventory with auditorsSupport requests from corporate headquarters as requiredReview housing incentive information and other grower-related accounting itemsLeadership & Team OversightInitially support, then lead two direct reports (e.g., Accountant, Ingredient Payable Specialist)Review all live accounting reports before distributionOversee adjustments within live operations systemsMaintain rental agreements and related accounting documentationAddress internal/external inquiries regarding technical systems and analyticsSkills & CompetenciesExpert-level MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Strong customer service orientationAdvanced problem-solving and analytical competenciesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to create effective presentations for internal/external stakeholders
