An excellent compensation and benefits package is available for qualified candidates.Job SummaryThe Manual Machinist is responsible for fabrication, modification, and operation of industrial machine tools and parts to precise specifications. The Manual Machinist develops and maintains these tools and parts utilizing knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. You will be familiar with machining on equipment such as: Vertical Turret Lathes and/or Manual Lathes.Key TasksSet up and manually machine components and parts for all types of pumps in a custom job shopMachine to specifications including impellers, wear-rings, bearing housings, covers, and sealsInterpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and sketches to determine methods of operationPerform precision metal cutting, grinding, shaping, and fitting with various machinery including horizontal boring mill, vertical boring mill, and ID/OD grindersCheck dimensions of critical components and translate into numerical form using inspection equipmentEvaluate machining procedures to ensure optimal efficiencyMaintain machine tools and equipment in proper operational conditionComply with Hydro shop safety policies and proceduresCollaborate with Engineers, shop personnel, and other Machinists to troubleshoot problems and recommend solutionsThis is a fantastic opportunity for a successful candidate.
