Inventory Logistics Manager
Job DescriptionTitle: Logistics & Inventory ManagerDepartment: 10 - ManufacturingReports to: Operations DirectorSalary Status: ExemptJob SummaryThe Logistics & Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of materials flow within the manufacturing operation, including inbound logistics, material handling, inventory control, warehousing, and domestic and international shipping. This role ensures materials are received, stored, handled, and shipped efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing daily operational execution with process improvement and strategic planning.Duties and Responsibilities:Logistics & ShippingManage all inbound and outbound freight, including domestic and international shipmentsCoordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and suppliersEnsure compliance with international shipping regulations, export documentation, and trade requirementsNegotiate freight rates and monitor transportation costsTrack shipments and resolve delays, discrepancies, or claimsMaterial Handling & Warehouse OperationsOversee receiving, storage, kitting, staging, and movement of raw materials and finished goodsEnsure safe and efficient material handling practicesMaintain warehouse organization, layout optimization, and space utilizationImplement and enforce safety standards and proceduresInventory ControlMaintain accurate inventory levels and records within ERP/MRP systemsDevelop and manage cycle count programs and annual physical inventoryMonitor inventory turns, aging, and obsolescenceAnalyze usage trends and partner with production and purchasing to maintain appropriate stock levelsInvestigate and resolve inventory discrepanciesProcess Improvement & ReportingIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costDevelop KPIs related to shipping accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and freight costsPrepare regular reports for leadership on performance metricsSupport continuous improvement initiativesTeam Leadership (if applicable)Supervise warehouse and shipping personnelProvide training, coaching, and performance managementFoster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvementEducation & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred5+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or inventory management within a manufacturing environmentExperience with international shipping and export compliance requiredTraits/Skills required:Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems; NetSuite preferredUnderstanding of import/export regulations and documentationExcellent organizational and analytical skillsStrong communication and vendor management abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWorking knowledge of lean manufacturing principles a plusWork Environment:Manufacturing and warehouse settingAbility to lift up to 50 poundsFrequent walking, standing, and sitting, typing, bending, lifting, pushing/pulling pallet jacks.
