Receive, resolve and\nfollow up with complex customer issues. Act as a liaison between internal and external customers and\nReferral vendors.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nRetrieve, sort and process specimens for shipment to referral laboratories.\nEnsure sample quality and accuracy. Identify problems with specimen types, missing\ninformation, incorrect temperature, quantity not sufficient, etc.\nPrepare specimens and packages for shipment ensuring they are prepared according to\nIATA regulations.\nResponsible for filing departmental documents.\nHandle all customer inquiries regarding reporting of results, service failures and other quality\nissues to provide customer satisfaction.\nReport laboratory results using established protocols.\nContact clients to resolve routine or medical/technical matters related to patient testing\nand result reporting using established protocols.\nPerform investigations and provide resolution to complex Referral Testing issues.\nResearch test availability using established protocol for selecting a referral vendor.\nAssist Client Services, Customers and Sales by effectively answering questions and\nresponding to concerns in a timely manner.\nCommunicate all tests not performed [TNP's] and lab accidents to clients within 24 hours of\nnotification. Document thoroughly; elevate issues of concern to supervisor.\nIdentify and escalate Reportable Quality incidents to supervisors.\nMaintain work area in a safe, functional and sanitary condition.\nAdhere to all established CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and laboratory safety requirements.\nRequired to use (a) personal protective equipment, (b) engineering controls and/or (c) work\npractice controls as directed by management.\nOther duties as assigned. This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, but rather a general description of work performed by the position.\nRequired Work Experience:\nMinimum one (1) to two (2) years clinical laboratory experience.\nPreferred Work Experience:\nCustomer service and/or medical background preferred.\nPhysical and Mental Requirements:\nThe normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10\npounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried\noccasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50\npounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.\nAbility to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.\nFrequent walking and/or standing.\nKnowledge:\nBasic understanding of the operations of Client Services and Specimen Processing.\nThorough understanding of Referral Testing.\nBasic medical terminology applicable to clinical laboratory.\nSkills:\nMust be detail-oriented, have the ability to work independently, establish work priorities and\nto handle several tasks simultaneously for maximum department efficiency.\nDemonstrate strong independent problem-solving skills.\nInterpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with supervisors, co workers and clients.\nCommunication skills necessary to handle telephone inquiries from clients and vendors.\nAbility to deal with patient and client information in a confidential manner.\nGood data entry skills required.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Laboratory Information Systems\nEducation Requirements:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent - REQUIRED\nWork Environment:\nRequired to handle biological samples and potentially hazardous chemicals.\nMandatory Experience:\n6 months of clinical lab expereince required\nJob Types: Full-time, Contract\nPay: $18.50 - $19.62 per hour\nApplication Question(s):\nAre you fine working in a third shift?\nDescribe why are you a good fit for this role?\nDo you have experience with specimen processing, collection, analysis etc?\nRequired to handle biological samples and potentially hazardous chemicals.
