A 379-bed teaching hospital in El Paso, Texas, is seeking nurse practitioners and physician assistants for PRN hospitalist coverage. Advanced practice clinicians are valued members of a well-supported care team, working closely with residents and physician colleagues in a setting designed to balance autonomy with collaboration.This opportunity offers 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a) with a manageable workload and strong clinical support. The average daily census is approximately 125 patients, with clinicians seeing 17-20 encounters per shift, supported by residents. Admissions average 3-4 per clinician on days and 8-10 on nights, with the higher end being rare and resident-assisted. The ICU is closed, consisting of 22 beds staffed by intensivists, and full specialty support is available. Clinicians respond to their own patients during codes and assist as needed.
