Projects include design and build outs of the physical plant within the typical WAN/LAN space within data centers, telco rooms, MDFs and IDFs as needed.\nFunctions:\n? Perform initial engineering surveys based on project needs.\n? Document engineering surveys to determine feasibility and the estimated cost.\n? Obtain authorization to proceed and confirm funding.\n? Create detailed engineering drawings of build, floor plans, equipment elevation drawings, structured cabling diagrams, power, and environmental needs.\n? Designs must conform to state, local, national standards and codes, and the NJ historical and or environmental commissions approvals if needed.\n? Based on the engineering documents create a SOW (Scope of Work) and BOM (Bill of Materials)\n? Submit to manager to approve and proceed when funding is validated.\n? Create a construction package and submit to contractors or in house for RFQ.\n? Review quotes and choose both low bid and qualified contractor.\n? Work with all stakeholders to date and time work schedules.\n? Confirm workers are safety trained and conform to department, FRA, and OSHA requirements.\n? Supervise and manage installations and conduct inspections.\n? Review work to ensure contractor met obligations under terms of contract.\n? Inform managers of status to approve invoices.\n? Coordinate with network engineering to connect, configure, and test equipment.\n? Review and confirm a successful installation were completed and working as designed prior to cutting over to production.\n? Assist with Break fix of IT infrastructure troubles or repairs.\n? Daily travel to location depending on scheduled or unscheduled work.\nKnowledge: High Level Skills In:\n? Inside and outside plant engineering and best practices\n? Interior building designs of IT rooms, data centers, cabinets, racks, power, structured cabling, and hardware.\n? Fiber optic single mode and multimode cable and hardware design, bandwidth, and distance limitations.\n? Copper ethernet such as Cat6, Cat6a cable and hardware design, bandwidth, and distance limitations\n? Carrier and fiber and copper circuit and equipment builds for data and voice circuits.\n? Managing IT build projects\n? Electrical power requirements\n? Troubleshooting structured cabling, copper/fiber,\n? Data Center DCIM Tools (Data Center Infrastructure Management)\n?
