Other duties/functions may be added or assigned.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\n\nCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.\nResponsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, monitoring, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nMonitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures.\nSupervise and provide guidance to ensure all tasks, projects and deadlines are met.\nDetermines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow by issuing written and oral instructions to staff.\nWork with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.\n\nOperations\n\nDevelops, implements and maintains standard operating procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, disposition and distribution of materials, accuracy of perpetual inventory, FIFO, and location tracking resulting in cost effective efficiencies for flow of materials throughout more than one facility on both shifts.\nMaintains inventory accuracy of greater than 99% by taking daily cycle counts and assists production schedulers in maintaining data on appropriate inventory levels and turns. Responsible for and the management of periodic physical inventory cycle counts.\nMaintains 100% location tracking and insures proper FIFO stock rotation.\nProcesses orders by supervising the scheduling of orders for shipment. Complies with customer requirements by ensuring error free shipments (PERFECT ORDER.)\nEnsures the most cost-effective shipping method while meeting customer requirements.\nDirects and manage distribution and material support staff, specifies their duties, ensures their appropriate training and maintains a performance management system. Also, duties, may include the management and supervision of commercial driver’s license (CDL) and non-CDL drivers.\nKnowledge of DOT regulations in order to maintain compliance with state and federal requirements.\nPrepares reports by collecting, analyzing and benchmarking information and trends.\nMaintains a Superior Rating with SQF and participates in the monthly internal audit.\nMaintains distribution, material handlers and CDL drivers’ staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and developing personal growth opportunities for all subordinates.\nEvaluates staff activities by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees as appropriate.\nCreates a safe working environment, adheres to all safety and training requirements, oversees forklift operator training, and vehicle maintenance programs to ensure that timely training is completed.\nCommunicates with other department heads to insure coordination of distribution activities with the activities of other departments such as production, other Inline facilities or customer service.\nMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.\nEnsures company's compliance with appropriate governmental regulatory requirements and promotes affirmative action compliance.\n\nSafety\n\nComply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements.\nReport to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.\nAttend scheduled EH&S training program.\nActively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans.\nRecommend improved EH&S practices.\nPractices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).\n\nProduct Safety and Quality\n\nFollows Product Safety and Quality standards.\nFollows GMP’s in regard to food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.\nFollows IPC product defense standards and complies with all SQF requirements.\n\nMinimum Requirements (include education, experience, special skills, licenses and/or certifications required.) Interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.\nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence.\nAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
