The company is looking for a leader who can connect operating performance to financial outcomes and help management make faster, better-informed decisions around growth, efficiency, and resource allocation.About the RoleOur client is seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead financial planning, forecasting, performance analysis, and management reporting for the business. This is a highly visible role for a finance leader who can move comfortably between executive-level strategy and hands-on analytical work.The VP of Finance will serve as a key partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, helping translate business activity into a clear financial view of what is happening, what is changing, and where the company should lean in or adjust course. This person will be expected to bring structure to planning, sharpen forecast accuracy, and improve how financial insights inform day-to-day and longer-term decisions.The role will work closely with leaders across go-to-market, product, and operations. A core part of the mandate is making sure that customer acquisition trends, retention performance, pricing decisions, and product investments are reflected clearly in the company’s financial model and planning process. The right person will be proactive, commercially minded, and comfortable challenging assumptions in service of better outcomes.ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning & ForecastingOwn the company’s budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processesLead the annual operating plan and ongoing reforecast cycles, ensuring the company’s financial outlook remains aligned with current business performanceBuild and maintain driver-based financial models that connect bookings, revenue, retention, pricing, customer acquisition, and operating spendDevelop scenario analyses around growth investments, headcount planning, pricing changes, and margin improvement opportunitiesImprove the quality, transparency, and consistency of forecasting assumptions across the businessHelp leadership understand the tradeoffs between growth, efficiency, and profitabilityBusiness PartnershipPartner with go-to-market leaders on pipeline trends, sales efficiency, customer acquisition economics, and investment decisionsWork closely with product leadership to evaluate the financial implications of roadmap choices, customer behavior changes, and retention initiativesSupport department heads in planning budgets, evaluating spend, and measuring return on investmentBring financial rigor to key decisions around hiring, strategic initiatives, and operating prioritiesAct as a thought partner to leadership by turning complex operating data into clear recommendationsReporting & Performance AnalysisOwn monthly and quarterly management reporting, including variance analysis, KPI trends, and executive commentaryDevelop dashboards and reporting frameworks that improve visibility into ARR, revenue quality, margin performance, burn efficiency, and cash flowLead regular business reviews that focus on what is driving results, where performance is deviating from plan, and what actions are neededPartner with accounting to ensure reporting is timely, accurate, and aligned with management’s view of the businessElevate the quality of decision support materials used by the executive team and boardProcess, Discipline & Finance InfrastructureImprove planning processes, reporting cadence, and the overall operating rhythm of the companyStrengthen trust in the numbers by enhancing consistency, clarity, and accountability across financial reportingIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency and redirect investment toward the highest-impact areasBuild scalable finance processes that can support continued company growth without creating unnecessary complexityHelp establish a stronger culture of performance management across the organizationWhat Success Looks LikeSuccess in this role will come from helping the company operate with more visibility, more discipline, and more confidence.
