May manage technical employees, work planning, technical design management and oversight, project delivery, quality management, contract administration, change management, and risk management. This position can be based in any of Stantec's Florida offices and will require the ability to travel regionally as needed, especially to other Stantec and client offices within Florida.Your Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to initiatives to help advance our project design, operations, and business developmentWork in a manner to protect the health and safety of Stantec employees, clients, and the public by following company health, safety and security guidelines and policiesMaintain and enhance our reputation with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals as an outstanding service providerMay manage multiple projects simultaneouslyEstablish project objectives, procedures, and performance standardsLead multi-disciplinary teams on major projects from positioning to proposals, planning studies, feasibility through final designs, and construction servicesBe the key person and point of contact, performing design, deputy design, or quality manager roles on major projectsRepresent Stantec and the project design team as a technical leader on major projectsIdentify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives. Manage contract tasks, track, and manage costs and schedule, and implement measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budgetLead by example with active support of internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, and quality managementGrow internal and external networks to enhance Stantec reputation and identify additional talent to join our teamDevelop client relationships to facilitate project activitiesEstablish, maintain, and promote partnerships in project pursuitsYour Capabilities and CredentialsExperience leading the design and construction support as a Design Manager of complex transportation projectsExperience in the preparation of presentations utilizing PowerPointExperience developing, negotiating, and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgetsBusiness development and marketing skills experience requiredAbility to lead, motivate, mentor, and develop a team of technical and professional staffAbility to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a dynamic and energetic environmentExperience with APD projects across a region or nationally preferredEducation and ExperienceMinimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering and project management experience on large transportation projects, including at least ten (10) in design managementCompletion of a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree at an accredited institutionProfessional Engineer (P.E.) licensed or ability to get within 6 months, and the ability to get licensed in states as needed to support the assigned pursuitThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
