Bilingual Mandarin Technical Business Leader - NGS Service LinePRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead in the product and capability development of next-generation sequencing (NGS) services. Lead technical deep-dives with customer R&D heads and bioinformaticians to provide technical & solutions architecture. Translate customer needs into robust and scalable service products. Take leadership in process improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing production workflows for NGS Kits, ensuring enhanced efficiency, quality, and scalability of service products.Service delivery lifecycle management for the NGS line: consolidate the workflow across different functional departments to ensure the end-to-end service delivery. Understand all sequencing platforms, especially NGS, and be an integrator of the four major platforms: Sanger Sequencing, NGS, PacBio Long Read Long Sequencing and Nanopore Sequencing.Adhere to regulatory standards and related ISO guidelines. Evaluate and update lab SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) on a regular basis.Keep track of the latest NGS technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the technical capabilities of the laboratory.Manage the performance and development of team members and provide necessary training and career development opportunities.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEA master's degree with 5 years of experience or a PhD with 2 years of post-graduate experience in a related field such as molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, genomics, or chemistry. Team management experience working for an NGS company is highly desirable.Strong knowledge of NGS methods, bioinformatics, service products, and applications. Familiarity with NGS technology and its use in research and clinical applications.Hands-on experience with large-scale genomic methods such as whole genome sequencing, exome sequencing, target enrichment, RNA sequencing, and single-cell sequencing.Experience with NGS library preparation methods.Bilingual in Mandarin and English is preferred.SKILL REQUIREMENTSCompetence & SkillsUnderstanding of bioinformatics and bioinformatics tools, including genome alignment, mapping, variant calling, and annotation. Ability to perform basic analysis and communicate needs with bioinformaticians.Proficiency in molecular biology techniques including DNA purification, DNA quantification, and PCR.Proficiency in written and spoken English.Coding skills in R, Python or equivalent languages is preferred.Experience with liquid handling systems and automation is a plus.Professional AttitudeStrong professional communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills.Ability to work both independently and as an excellent team player.Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Quick learner, self-management, influence, innovation and creativity.
