This role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership and influence across a highly visible platform that supports annual bonus and incentive calculations.\n\nYou'll work closely with Product Managers, Systems Analysts, Architects, and fellow technical leaders to deliver enhancements, improve system reliability, strengthen security practices, and modernize a complex application environment. A key focus for this team is leveraging AI-enabled technologies to improve development processes, increase efficiency, and share innovative practices across the organization.\n\nThe ideal candidate enjoys designing and building software solutions while also helping teams establish technical standards, improve engineering practices, mentor peers, and drive platform modernization efforts. Travel is occasional, approximately 1-10%, primarily for collaboration with global teams.\n\nWhat You’ll Do:\n\nDesign, develop, and lead delivery of software solutions supporting ABO bonus and incentive calculations within the MAGIC Bonus ecosystem, taking point on the team’s most complex initiatives\nCollaborate with Architects and fellow senior engineers on technical standards and architectural direction.\nPartner with Product Managers and Systems Analysts to translate business and calculation requirements into technical designs.\nChampion and lead security best practices and enterprise governance standards, including compliance, data handling, vulnerability remediation and safeguarding PII\nMentor fellow engineers through complex technical challenges, foster growth, and expand technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities\nChampion and lead responsible AI-enabled development, driving the adoption of modern engineering practices while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, governance, and best practice\nApply DevOps, CI/CD, and site reliability practices, including monitoring, observability, and production support.\n\nSkills to be successful in this role:\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.\nExperience managing applications through their full lifecycle, from requirements and design through deployment, support, and retirement.\nExposure to AI-enabled tools and practices for software development\nStrong Java development experience within enterprise applications.\nExperience with AWS, Oracle, Kafka or similar event-driven technologies, and API design and integration\nWorking knowledge of DevOps principles, CI/CD practices, and site reliability/observability\n\nWhat's Special About This Team\n\nThe Annuals Team supports a highly visible business capability responsible for calculating and paying annual bonuses and incentives, directly impacting business & ABO trust through the accuracy and reliability of its systems.
