Positions patient and performs scans using proper technical factors, maintains and monitors patient environment, adheres to safety procedures and contributes to the security and maintenance of the unit. Float Multi-Modality Technologists receive an additional float premium and retention bonus paid upon completion of agreed upon term.\nEssential Functions\nInterfaces with patients to ascertain medical history and provides instructions/explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.\nReviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent.\nScreens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.\nObtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.\nPerforms exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.\nTransfers images to other locations as needed.\nCoordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.\nMaintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.\nInterfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.\nOther duties as assigned.\nCompetencies\n1. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment.\nPossible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by and employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.\nThe employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.\nTravel\nAbility to travel within 35 to 40 miles from the home center.
