The Sr Coordinator, Transportation will work to optimize all transportation and logistics processes to create maximum efficiency.ScheduleSunday – Thursday8:00 AM – 4:30 PM(Schedule may vary based on business needs.)Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesDuties may include, but are not limited to, transportation, logistics, and backhaul functions.TransportationAnswer incoming calls to resolve driver, sales representative, and customer issues; communicate route updates to driversUtilize systems (MS Excel, Omnitracs, Tandem, Kronos, etc.) to create, update, and distribute reports supporting transportation operationsMaintain and track transportation metrics (attendance, DVIRs, backhaul spreadsheets, delivery window dispatch, trailer temp logs, route updates, etc.)Complete damages and shorts process, including vendor/driver communication and documentationSupport training and development of junior clerical teammatesPerform other duties as assigned Backhaul and LogisticsCommunicate key updates to support backhaul and transportation operations (arrival times, scheduling, service updates, delivery issues, etc.)Coordinate pickup appointments for backhaul orders and vendorsOptimize routing and scheduling to minimize cost while maintaining complianceComplete all necessary paperwork and ensure accurate communication of logistics informationResearch new backhaul opportunities to improve efficiencyPerform other duties as assigned SUPERVISIONN/ARELATIONSHIPSInternal: Operations, transportation, warehouse personnel, driversExternal: VendorsWORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed in an office environment with occasional exposure to warehouse conditions, including cooler/freezer areas with temperatures as low as -5°F.ExperienceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMinimum three (3) years of warehouse administrative or clerical experiencePrior logistics, transportation, and/or warehouse experience requiredKnowledge / Skills / AbilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent customer service and telephone skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentStrong math, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detailIntermediate computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)Ability to independently solve problems of moderate scopeStrong teamwork skills EducationHigh school diploma or GED/equivalent required Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of DOT Hours of Service regulationsFamiliarity with geographic delivery area Systems Experience PreferredOmnitracs, Tandem, Kronos, XATA, Manhattan, PowerDock, AirclicPhysical Qualifications(Kept as-is but cleaned formatting for HR/ADA compliance)Standing: OccasionallyWalking: OccasionallySitting: Frequently Lifting / Carrying:1–50 lbs: Occasionally51+ lbs: Not required Other Activities:Push/Pull: OccasionallyClimb/Balance: OccasionallyStoop/Squat/Kneel/Bend: OccasionallyReach Above Shoulder: FrequentlyGrasp/Manipulate Objects: FrequentlyManual Dexterity (typing, office equipment): FrequentlyCompensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.The expected base rate for this role is between $28.00 and $30.00 per hour.This role will also receive:Overtime compensation Benefits:Benefits for this role may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.To review available benefits, please visit:https://www.usfoods.com/careers/benefits.htmlCompensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds).
