Join our team, where your expertise can make a true impact!\n\nReporting to the Projects Construction Manager, the Project Controls Engineer (PCE) is responsible for performing a variety of tasks including scheduling, planning, estimating, and cost control tasks that include analysis and reporting. The PCE is also responsible for developing and updating a master schedule and verifying contractor’s monthly schedules and reviewing baseline schedules utilizing Microsoft Project and other scheduling software.\n\nKey Tasks\n\nAbility to develop and maintain a master schedule with interrelationships between projects.\n\nMust be competent in the development and analysis of detailed project schedules.\n\nMust be experienced in developing and using performance trackers for analysing manpower, equipment, and construction progress.\n\nAbility to organise, analyse, and present information regarding costs and schedules.\n\nMust be experienced in preparing estimates and evaluating contractor cost proposals.\n\nAbility to communicate verbally and in writing clearly, concisely, and effectively with team and other personnel.\n\nAbility to prepare reports for various purposes.\n\nMust be experienced in Project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office software.\n\nMust have proficiency in English language both verbal and written.\n\nScheduling experience for complex heavy industrial projects is preferred.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nResponsible for tracking invoice flow, developing work schedule, monitoring cost, or assisting in the development of project work breakdown structure and sequencing.\n\nCollect progress data from site personnel and assemble into progress report.\n\nReview contractor baseline schedules and verify contractor’s monthly updated schedules for accuracy and contractor compliance.\n\nAssist in the review and audit contractor’s invoices.\n\nPrepare status reports for progress, schedule, and cost.\n\nGenerate cash flow reports and graphs.\n\nPrepare what‑if analyses based on cost and time impacts.\n\nPrepare estimates based on available information to establish project budgets.\n\nReview and evaluate contractor proposals and change order requests.\n\nPromote safety, health & environmental awareness across all projects.\n\nRequired Capabilities\n\nAbility to enforce safety.\n\nAbility to identify hazards within the work area and act.\n\nStrong attention to detail.\n\nAbility to think analytically.\n\nA motivated self‑starter who can operate autonomously when required.\n\nAbility to work with multi‑cultural teams.\n\nStrong results orientation and ability to consistently deliver against the plan.\n\nExcellent planning, organising and prioritisation capabilities.\n\nActs in a manner that builds trust and demonstrates integrity.\n\nDevelops and maintains a positive working relation with others.\n\nPromotes high levels of accountability and employee empowerment.\n\nCommitted to continuously improving the safe and efficient operation of the mine.\n\nActs with a sense of urgency when troubleshooting and resolving problems.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nMicrosoft Office, Excel and Project software—Report writing, cost reporting and scheduling ability.\n\nThe ability to read and understand construction drawings.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.\n\nMust be able to work shifts with 12‑hour shifts.\n\nOccasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.\n\nWork is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.\n\nPersonal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel‑toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.\n\nQualifications\n\n5+ years relevant plant construction experience such as process plants, power plants etc.\n\nKnowledge of standards and regulations associated with construction on mine sites.\n\nExperience in mine process plants projects preferred.\n\nDegree in Engineering or related discipline (e.g. Mining/Civil, Mechanical, Construction) is highly preferred.\n\nAdditional Information\nWhat’s on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary + short‑term and long‑term bonus.\n\nComprehensive benefits package including health, vision and dental insurance, 401 K, and more.\n\nGreat residential location close to Charlotte, SC, and is located between the mountains and sea.\n\nLong service recognition.\n\nLiving Our Values recognition program.\n\nPaid training available and professional development.\n\nSupportive work environment with a focus on safety and teamwork.\n\nAccess to OceanaGold Employee Assistance Program (EAP).\n\nYou Matter\nOceanaGold is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.
