This position is 80% indirect/20% direct and reports to the Operations Manager of SGS.\n\nThe Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers’ missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution.\n\nWhat You’ll Do:\nSupport department operations including staffing, hiring, resource allocation, and talent management. May also include process improvement initiatives, strategic department planning, cross-discipline coordination, department functional process implementation, and other strategic initiatives as defined by the director.\nProvide support to new business pursuits including but not limited to developing proposal responses, presenting solutions in writing or orally, building relationships with customers and stakeholders, analyzing customer needs, and identifying business opportunities.\nProvide engineering support as needed including participating in failure review boards, after action reviews, and Lifecycle Management reviews,\nEnsure that all business is conducted with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations, as well as company policies and directives.\nContribute to SGS strategic and operational planning.\nMaintain a regular and predictable work schedule.\nEstablish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.\nPerform other duties as necessary.\nOn-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.\n\nWorking Conditions:\nWork is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.\nMay occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.\nMay access other facilities in various weather conditions.\n\nShort Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.\n\nRequired Education, Experience, & Skills\n\nBS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 10 or more years related experience.\nEach higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.\nA current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.\nDemonstrated experience with Earned Value Management.\nDemonstrated experience managing cost and schedule baselines.\nAbility to self-start, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work independently and with a team.\nAbility to apply sound leadership and management principles to an organization of high performing software and systems engineers.\nRelevant work experience with end-to-end software development practices and processes including Agile methodologies.\nAbility to operate at the system level and interface to all engineering disciplines and organizations.\nRelevant work experience demonstrating knowledge of software engineering with DoD, intel community, and/or NASA customers.\nDemonstrated excellent leadership and interpersonal skills in relevant business environments.\nInfluencing, communication and team skills will be critical to successful execution of the duties of the position.\nPrior experience working in and with controlled, classified security environments.\n#LI-AP1\n\nPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills\n\nPrior engineering functional management experience.\nDegree in Software, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering.\nKnowledge of ground hardware utilized in support of on-orbit satellite missions.\nCertified Control Account Manager (CAM) experience.\n\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $149603 - $254317\n\nPlease note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
