Apprentice","description":"Job Summary:\n\nThe purpose of the Tufting Apprentice is to aid in the service and repair of all the tufting related machines and equipment in the department in order to better prepare for becoming a Tufting Maintenance Technician.\n\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities:\n\nHelp with trouble shooting and then fixing the tufting machine, warpers, and other equipment in the department.\nAssist with correct style set-up in tufting machines.\nTo help machine operators to make set-up if needed.\nHelp machine operators’ work on machine lines, blades, loopers, etc.\nReblade and rehook machines as necessary.\nRebuild and overhaul machines as necessary.\nResponsible for making first quality carpet and notifying supervisor of any quality problem.\n\nPerformance Expectations (if applicable):\n\nLifting is required of machine parts and tools of various weight multiple times per shift.\nStanding is required approximately 6 hours per shift.\nReaching, stooping, and bending are required multiple time for various amounts of time throughout shift.\nMust be able to operate lift truck.\nMust be able to use tools continuously during shift.\nMust be able to climb underneath machines or on top of machines if needed.\nOccasionally required to climb, balance, and kneel.\n\nExperience/Education Requirements:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.\nMust be able to read and write and do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.\nComputer knowledge or data entry skills are a necessary part of the job.\n\nOther Requirements:\n\nOvertime is required on occasion.\nAll accidents must be reported immediately.\nPerform any other duties as assigned.\nMust be trained in Lockout / Tagout.\nSafety equipment must be worn as required.\nReport to management any quality, safety, or potential problems encountered while performing the job.\nResponsible for quality and safety of his/her own
