Superintendents provide the onsite field management for various sized projects. On larger projects, the Superintendent may supervise multiple foremen and craft employees. On smaller projects, the Superintendent may be responsible for administrative management functions with oversite from a Project Manager or Operations Director. The Superintendent acts without close supervision, within certain established parameters, proven experience and judgment are expected.\nThis is a project-based position, extensive travel required.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\nCommitted to and responsible for Envirocon’s Safety Culture & actively involved in project Health and Safety, including:\nEmbraces and enforces the site and corporate Health and Safety Plans\nWorks with the site Health and Safety representative\nAbility to review project hazards and participate in Job Hazard Analysis\nPerform pre-task planning\nParticipate in incident investigation and reporting\nDirect onsite efforts to ensure that assigned projects are completed in accordance with policy, design, budget, and schedule.\nSelect, schedule, and track properly sized and necessary equipment for completing project tasks.\nCoordinate and direct material, vendors, subcontractors, and craft labor as required on project to ensure project goals are achieved.\nAssist the Project Manager in the selection and hiring of craft personnel.\nAssist Project Manager/Operations Director in all necessary project management functions as required including good client relations involving staff onsite.\nResponsible for the training and mentoring of direct reports (i.e., foremen, craft employees, etc.).\nMaintain daily diary for record keeping purposes.\nComplete other duties as assigned by Project Manager or Operations Director, which may include assistance with submittal preparation, cost tracking, cost estimating, proposal development, and the development of new work.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nA working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and project scheduling software.\nKnowledge of cost control systems to support job performance and efficiency.\nExperience with daily quantity and cost reporting\nAbility to prepare and review labor and equipment reports.\nStrong understanding of project contracts and scopes; able to work with Project Managers and Contract Administrators to develop change notices and justifications.\nKnowledge of equipment capabilities and performance to ensure proper equipment selection and use.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with craft personnel, clients, subcontractors, and internal departments such as purchasing and engineering.\nStrong interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and the ability to influence others.\nAble to thrive under pressure while managing multiple, and at times competing, deadlines.\nDemonstrates persistence, initiative, and problem-solving creativity in day-to-day responsibilities.\nMust meet and maintain Envirocon’s driver qualification standards and hold a valid driver's license.\nSolid understanding of construction scheduling and cost control, with the ability to supervise and lead large teams effectively.\nFamiliarity with industry best practices, standards, and procedures and how they influence project execution.\nCurrent 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification or 8-hour refresher preferred (Envirocon will provide if needed).\n\nEducation and Experience:\n5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or equivalent role in environmental remediation, civil construction, and/or demolition.\nProven experience managing large, complex projects with multiple field staff (e.g., foremen, field engineers).\nEOE","company":"Envirocon","rawCompany":"envirocon","city":"Spokane","state":"WA","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-08-13T13:58:06.340Z","occupations":[{"code":"47-1011.00","title":"First-Line Supervisors of Construction Trades and Extraction Workers","slug":"first-line-supervisors-of-construction-trades-and-extraction-workers"},{"code":"11-9021.00","title":"Construction Managers","slug":"construction-managers"},{"code":"51-1011.00","title":"First-Line Supervisors of Production and Operating Workers","slug":"first-line-supervisors-of-production-and-operating-workers"}],"industries":[{"code":"237990","title":"Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction","slug":"other-heavy-and-civil-engineering-construction"},{"code":"238990","title":"All Other Specialty Trade Contractors","slug":"all-other-specialty-trade-contractors"},{"code":"238910","title":"Site Preparation Contractors","slug":"site-preparation-contractors"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Superintendent","description":"JOB DESCRIPTION\nWe are looking for Construction Superintendents with experience in environmental remediation, civil construction, and/or demolition.
