They will play a supporting role in achieving the organizations goals by operating in key development role with design, peer review, coding, and troubleshooting support.\n\nCORE FUNCTIONS / JOB DUITES\nHas strong Independence to act while performing the following:\nDesigning, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications using Java, JavaFX, and Guice.\nUse Git for local development and GitLab for configuration management, including handling merge requests and maintaining code repositories.\nLeading and participating in the full software development life-cycle, from concept to deployment. Employ Gradle for building and automating the compilation, testing, and deployment of the application.\nEngage in our DevSecOps pipeline to compile code, execute unit tests, verify code coverage, and analyze results from SonarQube scans\nCollaborating with cross-functional teams, internal, and external stakeholders to define and implement innovative solutions.\nEstablish clear code review guidelines, use tools for automation, and focus on constructive feedback, ensuring that reviews are efficient and contribute to high-quality code. Use SonarQube to perform static code analysis, identify potential vulnerabilities, and ensure code quality.\nMentoring mid-level developers and providing technical guidance to the team.\nContributing to technical documentation and software architecture decisions.\nManage artifacts generated from GitLab using Artifactory and facilitate customer deliveries through Nexus.\nImplementing security measures and data protection protocols.\nWork with VMWare Workstation to create and manage virtualized development environments on local machines\nParticipate in Agile methodologies such as serving as a member of a scrum team, conduct peer reviews, participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming, using JIRA for ticket management and Confluence for documentation.\nImplement a systematic approach, including profiling, testing, and refactoring during troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of code for maximum performance.\n\nSKILLS & ABILITIES\nApplies an expert level knowledge in:\nProgramming languages & Frameworks:\nJava, JavaFX & C++ Required\nDependency injection with Guice is desired\nVersion control systems and CI/CD:\nGit & GitLab Required\nDevSecOps principles and practices Required\nDevelopment and Build Tooks:\nGradle, SonarQube, VMWare Workstation, Artifactory, & Nexus Desired\nLinux/Unix experience preferred\nSoftware design patterns and architecture principles\nWeb development technologies and frameworks\nDatabase technologies and ORM techniques\nAgile methodologies and project management tools\nCloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)\nMicroservices architecture and containerization\nScalability and performance optimization techniques\nBig data technologies and analytics\n\nEDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS\nBachelor of Science in a related STEM field Required\n\nTYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS\nGeneral office environment\nComputer/Equipment lab\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nMay be expected to lift up to 25 lbs\nFrequent use of keyboard and typing\nFrequent sitting and standing\n\nWORK SCHEDULE\n5/40\nThe ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.\n\nPAY RANGE\n165,000.00 to $200,000.00 annually, DOE\n\nU.S. Citizenship is Required\n\nSECURITY CLEARANCE\nCandidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required.
