Applicant must be proactive in addressing different challenges and is willing to adapt, based on the business needs.\n\nThe Shift Millwright will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. JELDWEN offers a great benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance, disability, paid time off and holidays.\n\nQualifications\n\nValid Driver’s License\nGraduation from high school, or possession of a G.E.D.\n10+ years of experience in maintenance and repair of manufacturing related plant equipment or other related commercial equipment is highly desirable\n1-2 years of Maintenance Planner experience in managing projects\nCritical thinking, exceptional problem-solving skills, and ability to read blueprints.\nProactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment\nBe able to pass basic mechanical aptitude test along with shop fabrication test\nAbility to balance multiple projects in an organized manner\nAbility to work independently and in team environments\nStrong team working and communication skills. Be able to lead and work with a diverse team\nGood understanding of mechanical principals is a plus\nWilling and able to work a flexible schedule as needed\nWilling to undergo a thorough background and drug screening process\n\nJob Duties & Responsibilities\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nBe able to perform installation, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of any mechanical or rotating equipment\nMake rounds during shift to inspect equipment by looking, listening and feeling of operating machines and equipment\nMake timely repairs of any noticeable defects at first opportunity.\nMaintain personal tools and company provided tools in top working order\nCross train with the Electrician’s to perform basic duties when needed and called upon\nPass forklift operator’s test and operate forklift to move heavy parts and materials as needed\n\nMonitor Tool Storage cage for missing or damaged tools and report findings to Maintenance Manager\nBe the first point of contact during a repair and lead others in a safe and organized manner\nTroubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems\nBe able to read and use various measuring devices in order to align motors to pumps and gearboxes\nBe able to align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, string lines and plumb bobs\nBe familiar with various coupling systems such as belts and sheaves, lovejoy and grid couplings\nUse computer based parts program to locate spare parts in a timely fashion\nAssemble and install complex equipment, using specialized tools following O&E Manuals\nInsert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts\n\nBe able to work at heights, on high structures and top of buildings, also operate scissor lifts and man lifts when needed\nLayout basic piping systems according to drawings and weld pipe joints and fittings using flanges and spiral wound gaskets\nLay out mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes with a power drill or drill press\nSquare up and level equipment using basic math formulas, straightedge, levels, or transit\nDismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, pinch bars, com-a-longs and other hand tools\nShrink-fit bushings, sleeves, bearings, liners, gears, and wheels to specified items, using portable gas heating equipment\nUse cutting torch and welding equipment to fabricate framing, guards and jigs to assist with maintenance work\nPerform Electrical skills including but not limited to, effectively using a Multi-Meter, replacing fuses, identifying motor phases, troubleshoot sensors and switches, and read simple electrical schematics.\nOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager\n\nThis position is a tier pay position. Criteria for each pay level is:\n\nPay Level 1 – Learning and performing job as required\n\nPay Level 2 – Able to perform assigned tasks/duties efficiently without assistance\n\nPay Level 3 – Able to perform assigned tasks/duties without assistance, along with\n\n the ability to train department personnel to perform these tasks/duties\n\nSafety\n\nFollow JELD-WEN policies and procedures\nComply with all OSHA safety standards as a minimum requirement\nPPE:\nEye Protection: Required in all production areas – inside and out\nHearing Protection: Required at all times when machinery is operating or excessive noise is being generated\nFootwear: Steel-toe shoes/boots are required – ANSI rating\nAll other PPE provided by employer on an “as needed” basis. Use of all PPE will comply with OSHA standards\nLock-out/Tag-out procedures\nCommit no unsafe acts. Stay aware of the task at hand and consider all safety issues prior to starting. Look out for co-worker safety\nAvoid loose clothing, jewelry, or long hair that can get caught in machinery. Follow dress code requirements\nJob tasks include extended periods of walking, standing, and the use of steps and ladders. Follow paths meant for human passage and always maintain three points of contacts on steps and ladders\n\nOther Responsibilities\n\nQuality: Make quality repairs on equipment to bring it as close to new condition as possible with the parts and tools available.\nHousekeeping: Cleanup after all jobs insuring all tools, parts and trash are put away properly. Clean Maintenance Shop at the end of each shift, pick up tools and keep work areas organized and ready for next shift.\nCommunications: Report any concerns or deficiencies to the Maintenance Manager. Be professional when communicating with outside suppliers and contractors. Maintain good communication with Production staff and work together to maintain all equipment in top working condition.\nGeneral: Keep safety in the forefront of all activities. Keep plant in top operating condition at all times. Disable and report in unsafe or damaged tools.
