As an Estimator for Vector Construction you will be responsible for estimating complex self-performed construction projects that make our nation's structures stronger and last longer. Projects typically consist of concrete repair, waterproofing, structural strengthening, post tension repairs, etc.\r\nAs a successful candidate, you will also be responsible for:\r\nPreparing estimates by calculating various statistical data such as quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, equipment costs and applying to complete scope of work\r\nDefining and quantifying scope of work and preparing comprehensive conceptual, budgetary, and construction cost estimates for projects\r\nReviewing / researching historical data and compiling summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates\r\nPrepare project procurement (including design build) and buyouts to ensure the company has the necessary resources for project completion\r\nDevelop detailed subcontractor scope packages, outlining specific work requirements, deliverables, and performance expectations for each trade involved in a construction project, ensuring clear communication and accurate cost estimation for each subcontractor bid\r\nCandidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this exciting position based in our large Operations division:\r\nCandidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management may be given preference\r\n3-9 years of construction estimating experience, ideally in a related industry involving Construction projects\r\nDemonstrated ability to work with a team to estimate projects of moderate complexity up to $5 Million\r\nPrior experience to estimate up to 5 projects directly and up to 5 estimates indirectly as a mentor\r\nAbility to evaluate, quantify and capture specification requirements within the estimate\r\nPrior experience working with terms & conditions in construction contracts\r\nA strong understanding of the greater Florida construction market, including current market prices and clients (i.e: engineers, architects, property managers and owners)\r\nPrevious experience maintaining client relationships while performing light business development\r\nDemonstrated construction math and computer skills including Microsoft Excel and / or construction estimating software.
