Apply via Dice today!Job#: 3032226Job Description:Apex is seeking a Full Buy & Product Quality Specialist to join a growing company in West Chester, PA.Job Purpose/OverviewThe Full Buy & Product Quality Specialist is an essential "gate keeper" of product performance. Their purpose is to ensure product safety, quality, and conformance to technical specifications through quality verifications of existing and new products. This role is expected to deliver robust analyses grounded in statistical tests and scientific methods, and provide data for new product launches, cost savings exercises, and product change requests. It is critical this role engage well within the product quality team ensuring the delivery of accurate and traceable results in a timely manner showing product performance has achieved our consumer expectations. This role will adhere to standardized processes, support productivity initiatives, and deliver efficiencies to the business.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a statistical and risk assessment competency leader to analyze product performance of food systemsDirect and perform technical testing; manage the laboratory workload and priorities ensuring individual and team performance meets expectations and adheres to timelinesDevelop presentations and recommendations for the project team on technical solutions to improve the quality and food safety of new and existing productsAct as "voice of the customer/consumer" for existing and developing products, i.e. benchmark testing, defect classification, performance targetsInvestigate consumer complaints from the field and provide support in the identification of solutions at the factory levelKeep informed of industry testing standards and continuously improve test methods, ownership of rigorous laboratory practiceDefine, verify, and validate test methods/equipment for product developmentDevelop and maintain 3rd party laboratory network as needed to support business growth ambitionHigh level troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities to drive resolution of multi-dimensional complex problemsAdditional growth and development of role as neededJob Specifications/QualificationsEducation & Professional QualificationFour-year college degree from an accreditted institution, science-based or related fieldExperience in a laboratory settingSkilled at technical report writingExperience with statistical software (such as QI Macros, Minitab) 2.Knowledge/ExperienceExperienced with laboratory techniques and equipmentStrong attention to detail & scientific backgroundAnalytical, data entry and review, and computer literacy (Microsoft Office)Be able to meet deadlines and self-motivatingExcellent communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of machine servicing is an assetKnowledge of software and/or equipment validation is an assetAbility to collaborate well with others or contribute individually as applicableEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
