Job SummaryOur Controls Install Techs are instrumental in supporting our Installation teams in building long-term customer relations, solving problems, and making recommendations to improve customer systems. They will assist in developing, building, testing, and commissioning building systems such as HVAC, lighting, power, and monitoring.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist teams of installers in developing, building, testing, and commissioning building control systemsUphold controls installation standards and best practices for current systems and methodsBasic level understanding of mechanical systems in the buildings we serveProvide job leadership to other install team members and lead the installation efforts on jobsDiagnose and repair controls systems malfunctionsAbility to read and understand wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings and blueprintsConduct basic building control system installation, configuration, testing, and repairRespond to BAS emergencies during off hours if necessaryPrepare documentation and reports on work status and completionMust complete Pathway and pass performance checkout, as well as hold role for minimum 12 months until you can progress to Controls Install Tech 3. BASIC QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience1-4 year of experience with building automation systems, mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, computer science, OR equivalentWorking knowledge of basic electronics, logic, and systems designMust have basic PC experience in Windows environments and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, web-enabled applications, and database softwareHigh School diplomaKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, network, and wiring drawingsAbility to manage professional e-mail communicationsAbility to manage and maintain a calendar and task management systemsAbility to present a professional, positive, and helpful attitude alwaysMust possess and maintain exceptional work ethic and timelinessMust uphold company values and demand the highest level of conduct from self and othersMust be a self-starter, with the ability to work as part of a team and independentlyPreferred RequirementsBachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent certificationComputer networking experienceWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTSWork involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noisesWork environment involves moderate exposure to construction hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautionsModerate physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and extensive sitting. Some walking and standing.
