The Cable Assembler is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, testing, labeling, and quality inspection of electrical cables and cable assemblies used in temporary power, industrial, commercial, generator, data center, and power distribution applications.\n\nThis position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality cable assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, customer specifications, and applicable safety and quality standards.\n\nThe ideal candidate is comfortable working with heavy-gauge electrical cable and connectors, understands the importance of proper cable preparation and termination, and takes pride in producing reliable, professional-quality assemblies.\n\n*Essential Responsibilities*\n\n* Fabricate and assemble electrical cables and cable assemblies according to drawings, bills of material, work instructions, and customer specifications.\n* Measure and cut cable to specified lengths and tolerances.\n* Strip, prepare, terminate, crimp, and assemble electrical cable and conductors.\n* Install and assemble Cam-Lok/Cam-Type connectors, plugs, receptacles, pin-and-sleeve devices, lugs, terminals, and other cable termination products.\n* Assemble single-conductor and multi-conductor cable assemblies for temporary power and industrial applications.\n* Prepare cable ends using appropriate stripping, crimping, lugging, heat-shrink, and termination techniques.\n* Properly install phase identification, heat shrink, labels, cable markers, and other identification requirements.\n* Apply and document torque specifications for cable lugs, terminals, connectors, and other components where required.\n* Perform continuity, polarity, resistance, and other electrical checks using appropriate test equipment.\n* Inspect completed cable assemblies for proper length, termination, labeling, connector installation, workmanship, and overall quality.\n* Identify and report defective materials, incorrect components, dimensional discrepancies, or other production issues.\n* Verify materials and components against bills of material and production documentation before beginning assembly.\n* Maintain accurate production and inspection records.\n* Package, coil, secure, and prepare completed cable assemblies for shipment or integration into larger products.\n* Safely operate cable-cutting machines, crimping equipment, stripping tools, presses, drills, and other production equipment.\n* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.\n* Follow established production procedures, quality requirements, and safety policies.\n* Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Warehouse personnel to resolve issues and maintain production schedules.\n* Assist with inventory management and material staging as required.\n* Identify opportunities to improve cable assembly processes, reduce material waste, and improve productivity.\n* Perform other duties as assigned.\n\n*Required Qualifications*\n\n* High school diploma or GED preferred.\n* Previous experience in cable assembly, electrical assembly, manufacturing, fabrication, or a related field preferred.\n* Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work confidently with hand and power tools.\n* Ability to accurately use tape measures and other basic measurement tools.\n* Ability to follow written work instructions, drawings, and assembly specifications.\n* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\n* Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.\n* Ability to safely handle electrical cable, connectors, tools, and production equipment.\n* Dependable attendance and punctuality.\n* Ability to meet established production schedules while maintaining quality standards.\n\n*Preferred Qualifications*\n\n* Experience assembling *industrial electrical cable or power distribution assemblies*.\n* Experience with *Cam-Lok/Cam-Type connectors*, pin-and-sleeve devices, plugs, receptacles, lugs, and terminals.\n* Experience working with large-gauge or flexible power cable.\n* Experience using hydraulic or mechanical crimping equipment.\n* Experience with cable stripping and preparation equipment.\n* Familiarity with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, continuity testers, and insulation resistance testers.\n* Basic understanding of electrical circuits, phases, polarity, and conductor identification.\n* Experience reading electrical schematics or wiring diagrams.\n* Experience in temporary power, generator, switchgear, data center, industrial, or electrical distribution applications.\n* Familiarity with UL-listed electrical equipment and manufacturing requirements is a plus.\n\n*Quality Expectations*\n\nThe Cable Assembler is responsible for producing assemblies that meet quality requirements.
