The Coordinator ensures smooth delivery of services, high-quality volunteer and client support, and accurate program tracking. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to Kitchen Angels’ mission of providing nutritious, home-delivered meals to community members in need.\nKey Responsibilities\nProgram Operations & Logistics\nOversee daily coordination of Pet Angels, Caring Callers, Encore Bites, and the Frozen Meal Program.\nEnsure timely scheduling, preparation, and distribution of program resources and materials.\nMaintain up-to-date calendars, rosters, routes, and workflow documentation for each program.\nMonitor inventory and supply needs specific to each program and initiate replenishment.\nTrack and facilitate delivery or distribution of frozen meals and Encore Bites items.\nVolunteer Coordination\nSupport recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of volunteers assigned to the four programs.\nSchedule volunteers, communicate program updates, and resolve day-to-day questions or challenges.\nProvide clear instructions and ensure compliance with program procedures and safety guidelines.\nRecognize volunteer contributions and help maintain a positive volunteer culture.\nClient Services & Communication\nServe as a point of contact for clients enrolled in the four programs.\nRespond to inquiries regarding services, delivery schedules, or program eligibility.\nIdentify and escalate client concerns, health or wellness changes, or service barriers.\nCoordinate Caring Callers matches and ensure regular communication between volunteers and clients.\nData Management & Reporting\nMaintain accurate records in client and volunteer databases.\nTrack program participation, call logs, distribution metrics, and volunteer hours.\nAssist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual program data reports.\nSupport grant reporting and program evaluations by providing timely and accurate data.\nCollaboration & Organizational Support\nWork closely with the Program Director and other staff to improve program efficiency and client experience.\nWork collaboratively with community partners\nParticipate in staff meetings, cross-functional initiatives, and organizational events.\nAssist with outreach, community engagement activities, and special projects as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Human Services, Nonprofit Management, Nutrition, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination, volunteer management, or client services, preferably in a nonprofit or social service environment.\nStrong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and client/volunteer management databases.\nPassion for Kitchen Angels’ mission and commitment to serving vulnerable populations.\nRequired\nDemonstrated experience in program coordination, volunteer management, customer service, or related work.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (Word, Excel, Outlook, Docs, Teams Sheets) and comfort learning new systems.\nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.\nCommitment to Kitchen Angels’ mission and values.\nPreferred\nPrior experience working in a nonprofit, social services, or volunteer-driven environment.\nExperience supporting vulnerable populations including seniors and individuals with chronic or life-limiting illnesses.\nFamiliarity with client or volunteer management databases.\nWorking Conditions\nStandard office and warehouse environments with frequent interaction with volunteers, clients, and staff.\nFrequent lifting of program materials (up to approximately 50 lbs).\nSome evening or weekend hours may be required for special events or program needs.\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement (New Mexico)\nKitchen Angels is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, serious medical condition, spousal affiliation, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws, including the New Mexico Human Rights Act.
