Solid Power is a dynamic, fast‐paced, collaborative, and innovative team environment.\n\nThe Electrolyte R&D team specializes in research and development of solid-state electrolytes, including development of new materials, and improvements and modifications of production materials. This role will work alongside senior scientists to develop solid-state electrolytes.\n\nJob Duties:\n\nWork closely with and under the direction of senior scientists to execute planned experimentation aimed at modifications and improvements to solid-state electrolytes.\nPerforms material synthesis, characterization, data acquisition, and analysis.\nCommunicate results and roadblocks to the broader team.\nPerform regular and required housekeeping such as lab and glassware cleaning.\nAlways follow all facility and laboratory safety rules and regulations, ensuring safe handling and proper disposal of hazardous materials and equipment.\n\nQualifications/Requirements:\n\nBachelors in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related degree from an accredited college/university.\nExperience in an academic or industrial lab environment\nComfort with safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment is required.\nExperience in material characterization techniques is a plus (XRD, EIS, FTIR, DSC/TGA, Raman, SEM/EDS)\nExperience in synthetic chemistry.\nExperience with statistical and relevant software (design of experiments (D.O.E.) a plus).\nKnowledge of Li-ion battery materials optimization and synthesis is preferred\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office suite.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nRequired to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk.\nProlonged periods of standing\nAbility to work in gloveboxes and dry rooms\n\nSalary Range: $70,000 - $120,000/year\n\nBenefits: Solid Power offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical/dental/vision insurance, employer paid Life/AD&D/STD/LTD insurance, 401k with company match, 8 paid holidays + the week between Christmas and New Years off, Unlimited PTO, up to six (6) weeks paid FMLA leave, cell phone reimbursement and eligibility to participate in our bonus and equity plans.\n\nExport Control Requirements: This position could require access to technology, software and other information that is subject to governmental access control restrictions, due to export controls.
