The ideal candidate is highly organized, an effective communicator, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.\nDuties/Responsibilities\nOperations Leadership\nOversee daily operations across all departments to ensure efficiency, productivity, and adherence to company standards.\nServe as the central point of coordination across departments, aligning operational strategies with organizational objectives.\nDevelop and implement process improvements across all Customers.\nFoster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and best practices among team members.\nConduct training and mentor staff, improving team performance and adherence to safety protocols and compliance standards.\nStrategic Planning & Business Development\nSupport product and service line development through market research and competitive analysis.\nAssist in creating strategies aligned with market trends and customer needs to drive growth.\nMonitor industry developments and changes to identify opportunities for margin growth and new business.\nLead or support RFP negotiations and implementations.\nDevelop strategic pricing recommendations informed by market and customer analysis.\nCarrier, Vendor & Compliance Management\nServe as point person for all carrier and vendor vetting as well as TMS enhancements.\nCoordinate insurance certificates, permits, and compliance documentation.\nMaintain vendor and carrier files, service contracts, and related documentation.\nEnsure documentation accuracy within transportation management systems (TMS).\nCustomer Relationship Management\nProvide exceptional customer service to ensure retention and satisfaction.\nWork with customers to resolve billing inquiries, service issues, and documentation requests promptly.\nMonitor customer aging reports and follow up professionally on past-due accounts.\nAccounting & Administrative Oversight\nOversee all AP/AR processes, including invoice processing, check runs/ACH payments, and reconciliation of vendor and credit card statements while building sound SOPs for each process.\nAssist with payroll processing, budgeting, and expense tracking.\nPrepare and analyze reports using Excel and company software to support KPI tracking\nOffice Administration\nManage daily operations of the corporate office, including supplies, equipment, and vendor service contracts.\nCoordinate meetings, company events, travel arrangements, and conference logistics.\nServe as primary administrative support for management.\nRequired Skills/Abilities\nStrong background in the transportation/logistics industry (brokerage, intermodal, drayage, trucking) with 5+ years of experience.\nProven track record in strategic market evaluation, product/service line strategy, and RFP negotiation & implementation.\nExperience dealing with Container Yards and private containers.\nExperience with vendor platforms such as Blume, Highway, MyCarrierPortal, DCLI, Railroad websites.\nExperience with moving rail-controlled assets with knowledge of moving private containers\nExperience with transportation management systems (TMS), Salesforce, and analytics platforms.\nDemonstrated cross-functional leadership and collaborative communication skills.\nStrong critical-thinking and process-improvement mindset.\nExperience training, mentoring, and developing staff.\nExperience supporting accounting functions (AP/AR), Human Resources, and payroll.\n5+ years of customer service experience.\nPreferred Qualifications\nHazmat Training Certification.\nExperience in CDL training/driver education.\nExperience dealing with railroads.\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor's degree\n5+ years of related experience in transportation/logistics operations or management.\nTravel Requirements\nLess than 10%\nPassport required\nPay: $50,000.00 -
